2nd WEEK:
Fayra's POV:
"I'll be down in a minute!" I shout the answer from my room to the househelp calling me down for lunch,I am plopped up on my bed comfortably at 4:00 in the noon staring at a picture with whom I've developed an unhealthy obsession. Yes,the picture I took with Shehryar on Amaya's afterparty.
Contracted or not,the wedding photos are top tier.
I am still half pissed at Amaya for not posting the video on her story although she did post some photos, shit is top cinematography.Well good for me I actually am getting scraps and details from Amaya's marriage of convenience trope. Call me a bad friend but I am actually rooting for them.
What can I say I am a romance reader and an author.
By author, yes my story is fastly coming together and Oh My God I am so so so excited to publish it once its done, but I still have to decide the ending-finalise it. I wonder what trope Shehryar and I will have-Nope I have to go downstairs for lunch.
Descending the stairs two at a time, I place a kiss on my father's cheek after greeting him and pass my stepmother a nod-Saniya as I call her. I dig in to my lunch shortly after settling down opposite my father but someone-or truthfully aways her interrupts my peace.
"I thought you weren't gonna come down?" The mockness in her tone can't be missed. "Literature student or a 'nerd' that is." She tsks as I grip my fork tighter imagining very unlady like things to do with it right now. To her.
"Well apparently intelligence isn't gifted to everyone." I sigh and shake my head seeing Azra's face drop. "Yeah, you're too unworthy to get that without it being a God gift."
Yeah, I should just stab her
"You-" I start but Baba's voice cuts me off. "Enough, girls." Azra's head snaps towards Baba while she whines like a freaking kid at him. "It's her, Baba not me!" Baba."Stop it, Azra." Aunt Saniya says from her left. She turns towards me with a sympathetic smile, I get sympathy in my own house, just great.
And this is the exact reason why I love to read books, as worse as it can be their reality can't be worse then mine.
"How's your writing going?" She asks after a pause, "Good, I am still working on it. I haven't finalised the end yet." I reply not looking at her. "You've always been good at everything Fayra, You'll do your best." at that I pass her a forced smile and get back to my lunch.
Small conversations are exchanged on the table between us three while my step sister is endorsed in her mobile as usual, Thank God. And ofcourse after a while the topic changes in to the one I so hardly try to avoid.
Azra and her ex.
"Baba, I've told you if I meet a man who clicks with my vibe, I'll let you know." She shrugs while Baba exhales a sigh. "You're already 24, Azra It's about time you get married." She puts the forks down on the plate with a loud thud and looks at Baba like she has no regard she is living under his roof, spending his money.
