Scene XXI

Young China POV (6 months later)

"Finally!" Russia groans after hearing the bell ring, indicating the end of the school day. "I can go to sleep peacefully now."

Germany face palms, "you sleep during class. You have enough sleep."

Russia glares at him, "I need sleep."

"You can sleep on my lap," I hum, slapping my thighs.

"I. Need. Bed." Russia emphasizes, his cheeks flushing a light pink. He gets up from his seat and storms out of the classroom with his bag, leaving me with his soon-to-be-probably-step-brother Germany. I love teasing him. Maybe a little too much.

"Let's go to the library to work on this project. It's really quiet there." Germany suggests.

"Sure thing, but it isn't due two weeks from now and it's a friday." I chuckle.

Germany nods, "I know."

Poland introduced me to Germany during the first week of school and I realized he was that guy who stared at me when I first arrived at this school. I thought there was something wrong with him at first, but I realized he does that all the time. Always looking and calculating in his head. If you get into an argument with him, he will be spitting out facts nonstop until you admit defeat. With that, he was able to win all the debate competitions with facts and logic. An amazing achievement.

Of course, with all his logic and facts comes trouble. If I ever got into an argument with him, people will think of me as unintelligent and I don't want that title. Good thing Russia and him are close enough so that he won't do anything against me. However, from my analysis, he isn't the one who's in the fire. He's the ignitor.

Germany is cool and reserved, giving the appearance of someone who could hold all secrets. With his soft smile he looks like a trustworthy person. Unfortunately, he is not who he seems to be. It all started with the fights that seemed to erupt out of nowhere. No one knew what was happening. Not even Vietnam who knew everyone really well in this school. It was a mystery until I found out the reason why.

From the corner of the crowd of students, I saw Germany standing there, indifferent by the shouting and cursing. He initiated the fight without physically starting it. I knew something was wrong. So I tested my theory.

After our first history test, I told Russia and him that I think I failed by telling them all the 'wrong' answers I got on the test. Of course, Germany gave me sweet words of encouragement which seemed real. The next day, I found everyone staring at me as if I didn't live up to their expectations. Russia sensed something off as well, so I know I wasn't making it up. But Germany acted as if everything was okay. He was acting like himself. I know Russia wouldn't tell a soul about my grade because he doesn't care, but Germany? He wants everything to go down the drain.

I proved everyone wrong when I got a full score. So it only ruined Germany's reputation. When he congratulated me, I could tell it was forced. He really wanted me to fail. From that day on, I told myself I needed to keep him close to make it seem like I trust him. In reality I want to know what everyone's secret is.

During the second week of school, Germany subtly told me about South Korea's hatred towards me. I wasn't surprised that South Korea hated me, but for Germany to tell me what he said about me was concerning. He wanted me to act impulsively like other people at school. He wanted me to cause a scene and ruin my reputation. But I didn't. I only shrugged and continued doing my homework much to his annoyance.

What really proved my suspicion was when Taiwan got into an argument with Pakistan. I told him time and time again not to tell Germany anything and only tell me. He refused. Now look where he's at? He feels hatred everyday and wouldn't let it go. He is so stupid.
