Young America POV (Friday)

"Mom, I'm going to the park!" I say, putting on my black sneakers.

"Alright, stay safe." Mom replies, smiling softly.

"I will," I smile, closing the door behind me as soon as I go out. I walk down the steps and begin skipping to the park.

I wonder what China did over these few days. Italy told me China started talking to more girls which angered Philippines and my sister. Other than that, not much else happened. I wonder what he said to everyone. I wonder if he told them the same lie he told everyone. I hope he's not lying to me.

I get to the park, walking along the path to the little playground. He said to meet at the rocket structure right? I wonder if he forgot. Maybe he will arrive late. If he doesn't show up for an hour then I'm going home. What if he lied to me? That could be possible after all I might have held him back from doing what he does best. Maybe he said that to get rid of me. But it was Italy who suggested it and he wouldn't think—unless China told him to tell us that. We'll see.

I climb up the rocket structure and wait there patiently. I listen to the birds chirp and reminisce about life before the taxations. Father actually treated us nicely. We had the freedom to do what we wanted. Then suddenly, he took that away from us. We had no say in the matter and he ruled with an iron fist. Of course we did the next best thing: boycotting. And we also dumped his tea into the pool and fountains. It was chaotic but we got it done. Then he wanted to ground us so I stood up against him. Then he slapped me and brutally beat me.

I shivered at the thought of my blood all over the carpet when he did so. That's when I knew I needed my sister's help. She's stronger and can influence others. That's what she did. She got grandpa to help us win the battle and Mr. Spain as well. I don't know how she persuaded them, but I think it was because of their hatred for Father. That's how we won our freedom back. Now Father is more laid back but still disciplines us here and there. But most importantly, he doesn't treat us as countries! He still treats us as a useless piece of crap! Well, he treats me like that. Not so much Confederate. I'm not anyone's favorite!

And then Confederate started to get greedy because she thought we could do anything so she started attacking Canada. It did not go well. It was a draw, but Father punished me. Only me! Confederate was not blamed! Canada also blamed me! I didn't even want to fight. I guess this is why it's hard to have two leaders. But me and my sister got it. We did so much together and nothing will separate us. We are United.

"Sorry I'm late," China pants, climbing up the rock wall and sitting down next to me. He leans on the tic-tac toe board, trying to catch his breath.

I smile, hugging him, "so you didn't forget!"

He chuckles weakly, "how could I? I've been waiting to talk to you since the last time I talked to you!"

"Really?" I blush. He still thinks about me after these days. Not me though. I thought about Common Sense by Thomas Paine! Sorry China.

He nods, "yep. The reason why I was late was because my stupid little brother urged me to teach him how to make dumplings. He's so annoying. I wish he was never born." He glares at the yellow slide in front of us.

I frown, "don't say that! He's only a child."

"A devil of a child," he scoffs.

I stop hugging him, crossing my arms. "You're very mean China. I don't like it." I grumble.
