Scene XXV
Russia POV (First time having Russia's perspective!🤭)
China turns me around a few times, "no. You look too bland."
I groan, "I don't want to stand out. Сов (Sov) is the next heir to the throne."
"Fine, but I hate it when you wear black on black. I'm sure you'll look so handsome in some other colors such as navy blue." China grumbles.
I scoff, "says the person who wears red all the time."
"As I said before, I wear other colors such as gold. You only have one shade, which, unfortunately, is black." China defends himself.
I couldn't argue with that. My whole room is black with only a little gray highlights here and there. I grumble in annoyance and take the white watch he gave me for my birthday and put it on. He smiles, "that's more like it." I don't reply, taking my black mask with silver highlights and putting it on. I watch as he puts on his red mask with golden highlights and golden feathers. He looks so handsome even if his face is half covered.
China's wearing a silky dark red button down shirt matching with a darker shade of red pants. His cuffs have golden lining and white buttons. Lastly, he wears his iconic gold watch. I wonder why he loves it so much. He never told me. "You never seem to take your watch off," I point out.
He smiles shyly, his cheeks flushed a light pink as he looks at his shiny golden watch, "this was a gift from 美国 on my 13th birthday. She spent all her allowance on it since her Father didn't give her a lot to spend." He takes his watch off and shows me the bottom of it. "She even engraved our names in it." He says.
I smile softly, "I can't wait to meet her in person."
China puts his watch back on. "I can't wait too. It's been so long. My heart's beating so fast just thinking about her." He smiles giddily.
I may be selfish, but I don't want China to see America. China and I have done so much together, but it seems like his heart is still longing for her. I'm only here to enjoy what I will never have in the future with China. He belongs to her. She belongs to him. It's meant to be. And I will be in the back, watching their lives unfold in front of me as China leaves our love in the dust. It's an obstacle I must face. I must not make love take over my goals.
"亲爱的(darling), you okay?" China asks, peering up at me with concern.
He was the one who took my virginity. The one who couldn't make me walk the second day. Maybe this is the end of our relationship. My relationship with him. Once America is in the picture—he won't come running to me. I nod, "you remember the plan, right?"
He chuckles softly, cracking his knuckles, "of course I do. I'm the best at these tasks."
I scoff, "of course."
He rolls his eyes, "at least I won't be playing with your heart. You should be happy."
I chuckle at his joke, but deep inside I can tell that it's his way of saying goodbye to our love. America got him captivated the way I can't captivate him. It's not about appearance, it's about what she offers. She is intelligent, an excellent leader. She is everything that you can't describe because she's unattainable. A girl who can't be touched.
"Ready?" China asks, holding my hand.
I shake his hand away from me then clear my throat, "now we're ready." China tries holding my hand again and I don't allow him. He huffs in annoyance and then looks at me with puppy dog eyes.
My weakness...
He pouts, "where's my apology kiss?"
I kiss his cheek quickly, making him smile widely. He grabs my face and kisses me hard. I move in, pulling him closer to me. We kiss with the tongue and I love how this feels. His lips are soft as cotton. His touch is addicting. His—
