One year has passed since the best and worst summer of the pines twins has ended. They are 13 years old and ready to return to their beloved summer home. Their day of arrival is the first day of the summer holidays. Dipper and Mabels parents have rather gladly let them go again, because what could go wrong? Better than having to deal with a grown pig in the house for their whole vacation.

The twins, as last time, have taken the bus to Gravity Falls. It was early in the morning so that they would arrive around midday, if traffic allowed it. Firstly the busdriver did not want to let them enter the vehicle because not only was he scared of the pigs grunting, but also the girls grampling hook that she somehow attatched to her belt and wore it (in her opinion) very stylishly. As Mabel was already in the action of grabbing her weapon, the bus drivers eyes suddenly went blank and he monotonly said:'' enjoy your ride'', and closed the doors behind the twins, including the pig. Mabel and Dipper looked at the other puzzled as why the driver gave in so quickly, but none of them saw a reason to object as they made their way to the back of the bus, Waddles leading the way. The rest of the drive went without an interruption. While Mabel fell asleep on Waddles, who must be a very good pillow, Dipper looked at the goodbye letter from all their friends again. He couldnt wait to see them all again. He especually wanted to see his grunkles again, hear their stories about their boat journey. He wanted to see how Soos managed the Mystery Shack, and as Soos has explained excitedly on the phone for three long hours, Melody and him would get married in the summer. ''On some sunny day'', as he has said, not wanting to reveal the date yet. Most importantly though, Dipper would see Wendy again. They have written each other a lot of letters over the year, as Dipper and Mabel were not yet allowed to have phones and they had no other way to keep in touch as with letters or phone calls in the middle of the living room.

When the bus finally stopped in Gravity Falls, Ford and Stan were waiting for them at the station. They both were seen grinning from very far away already, even though Stan was trying to hide his excitement (he was failing miserably, wobbeling from side to side and always fiddeling with his clothes).

Mabel and Dipper were greeted with hugs from the grunkles. They all got into Stans car and drove to the mystery shack. On the way to the shack all were babbeling loudly about everything that has happened, but no one was really succesful at finishing their sentences as to react as fast as possible to what the others were saying.

At the Mystery Shack it seemed like nothing had changed. To that Stanley stated, that Soos wanted to keep everything as it was, to 'honour' the old times. Instead of renewing everything that was damaged and replacing it, he managed to restore the shack to its beauty, before Weirdmageddon has taken place.

And there Soos was, in the clothes Stan has always worn. Mabel thought that they fit him very well, but he should not neglect his duty of questi the question mark! (Later they would find out, that he made that to one of the shacks most liked attractions). Getting out of the car felt surreal to Dipper. He had so many dreams about his real home and not one day has passed since last summer that he has not pictured himself investigating the strangeness of this place again. He felt the hair on his arms rising with the cool breeze of Gravity Falls. He breathed in deeply, taking in the familiar smell of the place. As he looked around, he realized that something was off about the place, but he could not quite grasp what it was. There were many tourists, but that was nothing uncommon here. There were families and even a school class of maybe 5th graders, some of them looking scared by the Stanley wax figure that was carefully placed in the entrance to the shack. There were some kids, a little bit younger than the twins, being fascinated by the attractions and the shack. Then there was one kid, smaller than Dipper, maybe even shorter than Mabel (over the year Dipper has finally gotten his growth spurt he has waited for, and was now offically taller than Mabel by three whole centimeters! He was very proud of that fact but Mabel kept accusing him of using magic, which often caused an argument between the two). The kid had his hair over one eye, like Robbie always wore his, which made Dipper immediately dislike the kid. The weird thing about the kid was, that with his free eye he stared directly into Dippers direction, basically glaring at them. Dipper shrugged it of, as the kid just being nervous or something. None of the others had noticed anything either.

Soos, after a lot of hugging again, asked them all to come inside and wait in the kitchen where Melody was preparing food, because he himself had a tour to make, which he announced very proudly. They all went inside, leaving Soos behind. While Stan and Mabel were talking about fireworks or some stuff, Ford was talking to Dipper.

''And Dipper, how is school going?''

''Its going so well for me. I am one of the best in science and English. because I read so much My other subjects are rather normal. Mabel has joined the theather club and she plays the lead role in their play. She is so proud. How has your journey been?''

''Thats nice to hear, Dipper. You are just like me, even though I was the best student of all my classes, but thats not the point. Me and Stan were really able to reconnect over the year. I will tell you about our adventures later when we have more time. Maybe you also want to read my new diary about it. It should be in my room, if you want to get it now. There are photos in it that I would like to show you and Mabel.''

Dipper wasnt able to hold in his excitement. A new journal from his favourite author!! He couldt wait to show grunkel Ford his own diary which he has stared, but in their small home town nothing really exciting happened. Still he was proud of his own little journal and he was sure, Ford would be too.

''I'll go get it, one second.''
Dipper had to run through the souvenier shop. Not looking where he was going, he ran diectly into a customer, sending them both crushing to the floor.

''Oh God, I am so very sorry, I-'' Dipper cut off. It was the strange kid from earlier again. Looking at him closely, he could have also been a weak compy of Noraml, the weird gnomes stack that once wanted Mabel as their queen. He kinda missed those guys.

''Pine- Dipper!'' The kid looked at him in shook.

''How do you know my name?'' Dipper asked, in as much shock as the kid seemed to be in. He definetaly did not know this stranger, so how did he know him?

The kid was quiet. Just staring at him. Dipper did the same, the awkwardness rising. The kid seemed to twitch its head. He was muttering something. To Dipper it seemed like that weirdo was arguing against himself with a voive only he could hear.

Dipper slowly backed of, the new Journal and his escape in his mind. Just as he wanted to turn around, the kid spoke again. First so softly that Dipper couldnt make it out. Then the stranger sighed loudly before repeating himself:

'' I'm Bill. And I am back to have my revenge.''
