Seungcheol's POV:
As I walked into the house, I couldn't help but notice the warm atmosphere. I was expecting to just grab few important files, but what I saw made me pause. Jiwoo was laughing and chatting with... Taehee? And her mom? I had no idea they were visiting today.
I watched from the doorway, observing the scene before me. Jiwoo was beaming with happiness, and Taehee's subtle smile.
Oh! So miss. Attitude can smile as well. What were they talking about? I wondered. Jiwoo's eyes sparkled as she listened to Taehee, and Taehee's gentle nods showed she was fully engaged in the conversation.
For a moment, I forgot about the urgent files and work stress. Seeing Jiwoo happy like this was a balm to my frazzled nerves. And Taehee... she seemed different from what I remembered. Softer, somehow.
I shook my head, clearing the thoughts. Focus, Seungcheol. You have work to do.
I approached them, trying not to disrupt the warm moment. "Hi, mom. I just need to pick up some files from. It's urgent."
I went to his room joging in the rush to find the file, but soon came running back.
"Noona where is the black file that I kept on the night stand?"Jiwoo, who was still chatting with Taehee, paused and turned towards him. "I kept it in your cabinet safely."
I nodded and again went to search the file. And came back.
"Seungcheol, wait! Couldn't you have just told me to deliver the file?" Jiwoo asked, a hint of teasing in her voice.
I hesitated, feeling a bit sheepish. "Noona, I could have, but these are confidential files. I didn't want to risk it."
Taehee raised an eyebrow, her expression amused.
"Can't you keep your things properly by yourself? Why do you -"I interrupted her, feeling a bit defensive. "I do keep my things organized, but this is different. And besides, Noona and Mother help me with my room."
"But your dear noona is pregnant, still you are going to make her work?" Taehee raised her eyebrows.
I felt a surge of defensiveness. "Hey, I'm not making her work. She offered to help me, okay?"
Taehee snorted. "Oh, sure, she offered. Because that's exactly what a pregnant woman should be doing - running around after her lazy brother."
I bristled at her tone. "I'm not lazy, and Noona knows I'd never take advantage of her."
Taehee raised an eyebrow. "Really? Then why did you come running back to her for help?"
I felt my face heat up with annoyance. "Because I needed the file, okay? And Noona was the only one who knew where it was."
Taehee shook her head. "You should be more considerate, Mr.choi. Your noona's health is more important than your precious files."
I glared at her. "You don't know anything about our relationship, so don't lecture me."
Taehee stood up, her eyes flashing. "I know enough to see that you're being selfis-"
"Enough kids" T/M interrupted.
"I don't want to watch a love telecast of tom and jerry " S/M spoke.I rolled my eyes and gave a last glare to taehee before walking out. I couldn't shake off the feeling of annoyance. Who did Taehee think she was, lecturing me about my relationship with Jiwoo? I knew Jiwoo better than here, and I would never do anything to hurt her.
But as I drove away, I couldn't help but think about Taehee's words. Was I being selfish? Tsk!
I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the road ahead. But the memory of Taehee's flashing eyes and her sharp tongue lingered, making me feel uneasy.
