"Thanks"

Taehee looked while reading the file as she heard his voice.

"It's my duty Mr.choi, not any favour I have done."......
a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. "Well, you see, not all doctors are scammers, Mr. Choi. Some of us actually care about our patients."

Seungcheol's face darkened, his jaw clenched. "I never said all doctors were scammers. But I do know that some are more interested in their bank accounts than their patients' health."

Taehee's smirk grew wider. "And I'm sure you're an expert on that, Mr. Choi. After all, you are a businessman your self.

Seungcheol's eyes flashed with anger, but he bit back a retort. He knew that Taehee was trying to provoke him, and he wasn't going to let her get under his skin.

"Can't you talk nicely. Or you don't know how to." He said frustrated.

"I know Mr.choi bickering with me kinda became your hobby but it's not the right situation."
She kept the file on her desk.
"Save that for later"

"That later will never come" seungcheol whispered and was loud enough for taehee to hear.

Taehee's smirk faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. "I'm just telling the truth, Mr. Choi. No need to get defensive."

Seungcheol's eyes narrowed, his voice low and even. "I'm not defensive, Dr. Kim. I just expect a certain level of professionalism from the people I work with."

Taehee raised an eyebrow. "And I expect a certain level of respect from my patient's families. But I guess that's too much to ask from a Choi."

Seungcheol's face darkened further, his jaw clenched in frustration. "You know, Dr. Kim, you're really pushing my buttons today."

Taehee leaned back in her chair, her expression calm. "I'm just trying to do my job, Mr. Choi. If you can't handle the truth, then maybe you should leave."

Seungcheol's eyes flashed with anger, but he took a deep breath and stood up.

Taehee's expression didn't change, but Seungcheol saw a flicker of something in her eyes. Uncertainty? Doubt? He couldn't quite place it.

"I'll go check on your father now," Taehee said, standing up and smoothing her pants. "And maybe when I come back, you'll be in a better mood."

Seungcheol nodded curtly and turned to leave, but not before catching Taehee's whispered words. "I doubt it."

As Seungcheol walked out her cabin, he couldn't shake off the feeling that Taehee had gotten under his skin. Her words, though laced with sarcasm, held a truth that he couldn't deny. He had expected her to be like every other doctor,(ofcourse not all doctors are like that) distant and detached, but she was different. She was sharp, witty, and unafraid to speak her mind.

He made his way to the hospital cafeteria, lost in thought. Why did Taehee's words bother him so much? Was it because she was right, or was it because he couldn't handle the fact that she wasn't intimidated by him?

He sat beside his mom caressing her back.

The nurse, who had been checking on Seungcheol's father, noticed a change in his vital signs. She quickly called out for Taehee, who arrived promptly.

"What is it?" Taehee asked, her eyes scanning the monitors.

"He's showing signs of regaining consciousness," the nurse replied.

Taehee's face lit up. "Let's get him settled and comfortable."

Seungcheol and his family, who had been waiting anxiously outside, insisted on going in to see his father. But the nurse refused, citing hospital protocol.
