The café Nayeon was sitting in was bright and colorful, hanging plants and the bright lamps lit up the room as people walked around with cake and drinks. Laughing and chatter filled the café, Nayeon was one of the people who contributed to the noise, laughing with Mina who sat opposite her.
This was the third time they had met up after they got dinner together, Nayeon enjoyed her company a lot, it differed from the tense environment at home. It's not like Y/n had been treating her badly but she had been colder, it deeply confused her since she was the one who rejected her. But Mina wasn’t confusing, Mina was straightforward and light, a breath of fresh air from the mindfucking that Y/n gave her.
‘Are you sure it’s ok for us to be going out like this?’ Mina asked stabbing her cheesecake with a fork ‘I mean you’re married’
‘I’m married but I’m not in a relationship with her’ Nayeon explained, knowing this was going to be hard to explain ‘it's a marriage of convenience meaning there’s no feelings and we can both see other people’ Nayeon flinched at the memory of that girl picking up her phone call to Y/n, she never wants to feel that heartbroken feeling again.
‘That makes my head hurt, I just don’t understand it, it must suck to get married and not being in love with them’
‘I don’t mind it too much, it makes my dad happy’
‘What if you want to get married for love one day?’
‘This marriage isn’t a long term thing, it's a really long story’
‘Your life confuses me so much’
‘Don’t worry, it confuses me too’ Nayeon sighed ‘are you enjoying your cheesecake? I mean this is the best café in the city’
‘It's lovely, I’ve never been to a place as expensive as this, don’t you think $25 is too much for a slice of cheesecake?’
‘It's nothing to me’
‘Look Nayeon I know you’re rich but you really don’t need to keep taking me to expensive places to impress me, it's not that I don’t appreciate it but I’d be just as happy going to a fast-food place’
‘I’ll let you chose where we go next’ Nayeon smiled anxiously, she didn’t know how dating worked, Jihyo was her childhood friend and Y/n was her wife, this was her first time ever doing things in the traditional way. ‘I’m sorry, I’m not good at this’
‘It's fine, I can tell you’re nervous but all I ask is you be yourself’
‘Nayeon, I see you’ve come here as well’ Nayeon turned her head up and saw Y/n standing next to her, she could feel Y/n’s hand on her shoulder, her touch surprised her, lately she’d had a very stern no touching rule. ‘You must be Mina’
‘What are you doing here?’ Nayeon asked surprised, she never wanted to mix Mina and Y/n, the idea terrified her but here they were interacting, she wasn’t sure how this was going to go down.
‘I was coming here to get some cake for our lunch, but its clear you had lunch plans with someone else’
‘Mina, this is my wife Y/n’ Nayeon introduced ignoring Y/n’s comment.
‘Hi’ Mina meekly said, clearly intimidated by Y/n’s piercing gaze ‘do you want to join us?’
‘I’d rather not’ Y/n scowled ‘I’m sure Nayeon doesn’t want me here’
‘I agree with that’ Nayeon replied irritated at Y/n’s rude tone.
‘I guess I’ve got to eat the cake I brought at home alone, this is the second time you’ve ditched me for Mina’
