Nayeon leant back in the her office chair, taking a deep breath in to calm her nerves- she should be here any second now. Getting a tiny bit restless she started pacing around her office, she still wasn’t sure if this was a good idea but even so she had the board and the investors behind her on this one so if it failed she could blame it on them. She looked out at the skyline of the city, hoping the familiar view would calm her down but all it did was make her heart pound even more, this was the first bold business move she was making as CEO, it couldn’t go badly for the sake of her sanity.
A loud knock on her door made her jump, she quickly rushed to open it, turning the handle slowly. She smiled nervously as Y/n stood on the other side of the door, greeting her with a wide grin.
’Sorry I’m a few minutes late’ Y/n sighed, leaning in to give her a kiss, which Nayeon cut off by pushing her away.
‘No touching me.’ Nayeon scolded going to sit behind her desk as Y/n sat down in front of her.
‘Wait, are you mad at me? Because whatever I did I’m sorry.’
‘No, I invited you here on business so we’re going to be professional’
‘Ok, fine.’ Y/n huffed ‘you’ve been insufferable ever since you got reinstated as CEO.’
‘So, you’ve been in high demand ever since you quit your job at Y/l/n enterprises, correct?’
‘Mhm, I still don’t know what I’m going to do yet.’
‘Well here at Im designs we have decided that we want to give you an offer as well, one that you hopefully can’t refuse since you would be a valuable asset to our company’
‘I’m listening.’
‘Now I realise because of the nature of our relationship it wouldn’t be healthy for me to be your boss since that could cause so many issues.’ Nayeon explained, she maintained her cool front but she had never felt so nervous and unsure, she had replayed this speech over in her head a thousand times ‘then I remembered the hotel project we worked on as a partnership we did great, which is why I would like to offer another partnership, us both sharing the CEO role and responsibilities’
‘Wow, that's a big offer, are you sure you have that much faith in me? I don’t have much experience as head of a company’
‘Yes, and it’s not just about you, I barely managed to get myself reinstated, the board still has little faith in me but they remember how well you did in your brief time here, so bringing you in will help greatly, it will boost investments and deals, it's basically a win-win’ Nayeon took some files out of her desk and started looking through them, trying to find the piece of paper she needed ‘and I remember you telling me you wanted to do something more creative than marketing, I think you’ll find fashion and architecture more interesting than you think.’
She handed Y/n a piece of paper, watching intensively as she scanned it through.
‘I do like the terms of this contract, of course I’m going to have my lawyers look over it first.’
‘Take some time to actually consider my offer’ Nayeon noted ‘I know you have a lot of options at the moment, choose the one that is best for you, I won’t be offended if you don’t pick mine.’
‘This is the best offer I’ve got so far, the rest have been a bit low.’ Y/n trailed lightly putting the contract down ‘like I said I will have to think about it but my mind is pretty much made up- I really like this offer.’
‘Really? I spent all night working on the contract so I’m happy to hear that.’
‘And being in a CEO partnership doesn’t sound too bad, I won’t have anyone telling me what to do and plus I get to spend more time with you.’
