After the death of her husband, she was lost for a while. Her daughters were seeing a shell of their mother.

"Is mommy going to okay?"

She was on her bed, her daughters looking at her with Danny. He was truly concerned for his friend and especially knowing that Tim came over after.

It didn't sit right with him.

Especially right after his separation with Helena made Danny feel uncomfortable with the situation. It wasn't a great feeling to have about his close friend.

"Let's go get ice cream, we'll come back for mommy." Danny said to the girls as they walked away from the room.

Briar, she cried once the minute, the girls left and started to sob silently to herself. She refused for the girls to see her look like even though it was so hard for her to maintain her emotions.

When the door slam, she got up from bed and started cleaning the house. It's all she can do to get her mind off of everything.

Victor.

In her memories, moments they had together. He was haunting her in every part of the house. She felt like she can feel his presence every time she walked by the living room or the girls room.

She felt so guilty.

That's when she decided that she had to be strong and always be there for her girls. That her daughters are the last link to her husband. Her daughter keeps her living and moving.

They are her muse.

The years were going by so so fast.

10 whole years, they didn't get together. It felt like a slap in the face for the previous relationships.

Tim waited patiently for her.

She grieved her husband and the father of her children. She understands that they both need time to separate from one another.

It's the shame of loving one another, knowing that they can't be together.

Pathetically as they both wait for one another, knowing that it would've been just so simple to give each other a phone call, confessing their feelings once more.

It seems so dysfunctional.

"It's okay, you don't have to come back."

Tim heard her say on the other line.

It wasn't okay, it's been years, all he wants is to be by her side. He sighed and could hear her steady breathing.

"You'll always be in my heart." He said to her.

She let out a gasp but smiled hearing him. They spoke for a little bit but had to hang up. She didn't notice yet, but he was fidgeting with a silver spiderweb hair clip that he got just for her.

"Alice, please just be patient."

Briar was with her daughters as they were being excited joining an agency that was going to help them with her modeling and acting career. She was thankful that she had some connections. However, she's mostly known for her voice work versus anything with her actual face.

The Roses, that's what they were called in the public.

It made her smile as Briar check her social media to notice it mostly positive reviews on them. They always got interesting and hurtful comments about her daughters, dealing with nepotism and possibly favoritism because of Burton.

It made her sighed.

"Rose girls?"

They all stood up to be greeted by a photographer. He explained the headshots for the girls and what made them comfortable. Something she learned in the industry is that she will never leave her daughters alone with anyone.

Her daughters are always at her side.

She smiled proudly looking at the girls. They were modeling happily with different expressions. She knew how happy it made them finally being able to branch out and start careers of their own.

"Burton girls?"

"The mother is Briar Rose."

"Victor...the stop motion director."

She could hear the whispering within the small space. It made her upset that Tim had immortalized her, now no one believes in her hard work.

It was already starting to affect her daughters.

*

"I hear your girls are growing to be beautiful as their mother." Tim said to her.

The two of them were sitting on a park bench on the gloomy day. It felt like déjà vu all over again. She felt like that one interesting day they decide to walk together.

"Thank you, I'm excited for them."

Then catch up again, discussing about their children's future, what was happening in their careers wise. he was her companion and she was able to be herself around and vice versa.

"Briar, when can I be with you?"

The question to her off guard that's when she started noticing he was holding a spiderweb silver hair clip that had diamonds.

"Tim...I-."

"You set me free, now I can do the same for you." He said holding her hand tightly in his.

She held her breath and closed her eyes, knowing that she desperately wanted to be by his side. However, she was so concerned about her daughters public image.

She was willing to sacrifice her happiness for them.

When she opened her eyes, she saw that his face dropped his eyes had that broken looked at him. He held tightly to the hair clip. As he got up from his seat and walked away from her.

That gloomy day just got gloomier.
