Chapter 20. Hospital

Everything was going so well. I was enjoying my time with Bakugou. The bath was so relaxing, then suddenly an excruciating sharp pain jabbed at my abdomen like a knife.

I knew right away something wasn't right. This wasn't your average indigestion or stomache ache. This was something much worse.

The pain became too much to handle. I couldn't bear it any longer. My body shut down, and everything has faded to black.

Now I opened my eyes to a far too bright light shining in my eyes. I squeezed them shut in response before trying to slowly open them again.

Where- where is Bakugou?

Peering around the room I realized I was in a hospital room. It was quite luxurious for what I was used to. The bed alone was far more comfortable than the one I owned back home, and had comfortable sheets and duvet unlike those itchy blankets they often gave to patients.

There was a large flat screen TV attached to the wall across from the bed with a table beneath it covered with flowers of all kinds and colors.

Two doors were to my left one had a frosted glass window that led out into the hall the other I assumed was a private bathroom.

Opposite that wall to my right was floor to ceiling windows with the blinds pushed aside to let in the sunshine.

Tilting my head I could hear voices outside of the door. They sounded angry.

The door burst open and in stormed my mother.

"Ma'am you can't go in there yet!"

"Not even the gods will keep me from my pup!" She bellowed.

"Oh gods." I gasped turning bright pink seeing the fury in her usually soft features.

Her floppy ears were pressed down against her skull and her green fluffy tail was puffed with rage. Behind her anger I could see she was worried. Terrified even.

"Izuku! My puppy, oh sweetheart are you alright? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?! I was so worried!" She wailed as tears built up in her eyes and spilled down her cheeks.

"Calm down mom, I'm okay." I made a calming gesture with my hands as she practically threw herself into me in a tight hug.

"My poor puppy, I can't believe this." She sobbed.

"Too- tight. Can't- breathe." I managed to speak. She loosened her grip apologetically, and sat back at the edge of the bed.

"Can't believe what? What happened?" I asked confused.

"I received a call that you were in the hospital. I called Uraraka to drive me because I was just too frazzled to drive on my own." She spoke dramatically.

"She's here?" I asked.

"Yes she's in the cafeteria getting us some food. We've been here since they called us this morning."

"What happened?" I repeated.

"Someone poisoned you." Bakugou's voice came from the doorway.

My heart lurched causing the machine I was hooked up to to beep erratically.

Well that's embarrassing!

Bakugou was disheveled and looked like he hadn't slept all night. His face though stoic had a cold indifferent harshness to it that I recognized. His walls were back up.

"My poor puppy." My mother hugged me again.

"Mom, could you please give us a minute?" I pleaded wiggling free of her grasp.
