angst w/ a bit of comfort :3
REQUEST BY @Flametail221- I may have changed a few things around, but I really liked your suggestion!

He felt tired.
So tired. Tired of how he thought, tired of talking to his friends, tired of sleep itself. The only thing Four felt like doing was work.
He knew that didn't make sense at all- why would it? But nothing seemed to make sense after what happened. He felt like work would help clear everything up- solve his problems. Keep his mind away from his guilt.
Yet the guilt seemed to merely accumulate- just shoved to the back of his head. He isolated himself, perhaps not wanting to spread his woes to his friends- or perhaps he was falling down a rabbit hole.
At first, at least, he isolated himself. That was until he realized how truly worried his friends were about him yet AGAIN- And the guilt resurfaced.
Sure, he got outside again: he laughed and talked with his friends, he comforted the others in times of need, but he felt this underlying need to lock himself in his room again.
He kept that for times at night, however: he ran on little sleep, and spent every ounce of his free time alone and isolated. He came out just enough to avoid the majority of concerns his friends had for him.
He managed to get just enough sleep to hide his eye bags- well, that a bit of makeup (of course, nobody knew about that part. He knew he would never live it down.) always managed to do the trick.
Four paused as he put his door on the handle, scanning over his outfit again, making sure everything seemed perfe... good.
He shook off the shiver down his spine, instead finally opening the door and entering the game room.
On the couch and the floor several crew members sat.
Meggy sat on the couch, her eyes narrowed at the TV as she grinned, her competitive nature taking hold as she eagerly pressed the buttons on her game controller.
Meggy had managed to confusingly be both aggressive yet soft at the same time. When she was really worried about him, she would bang on his door until he finally pulled away from his screen. Which honestly, sometimes he didn't do. He lied that he was sleeping. Yet with some face-to-face conversations, Meggy talked to him in a patient, soft voice- likely an influence from Tari.
"YES!" Meggy cheered suddenly. Her opponent- Mario, it seemed- began to cry in defeat, rocking back and forth as Tari giggled, taking the remote as she sent a challenging look to the squid girl.
The videogame girl sat next to Meggy, eyes gleaming with excitement as she prepared to play.
Tari seemed to often be too sheepish to talk to him about much more then video games- Four felt very guilty about this. But at the same time, she seemed to be the most observant- she often felt her eyes on him when he thought nobody else was looking, her gaze thoughtful yet sad at the same time. She always quickly tore her gaze away. She was very sweet, and honestly, despite that he felt he knew a lot more about him and how the incident affected him then he would like her to, she was one of the few crew members where he didn't feel pressured around, someone who would ask questions at any moment. Tari kept things to herself, often. And Smg4 appreciated that.
"THAT WAS SO UNFAIR!" Meggy groaned. "Of course Tari would win!" The blue haired girl giggled. "Sorry Meggy." The two glanced at Mario and Luigi, and soon the two brothers were battling.
Mario was sitting on the floor, being chaotic as usual as he stared desperately at the screen, shouting random words as he spammed his controller.
Mario, while being a idiot however, still showed moments of worry for his best friend- it felt oddly chilling when Mario seemed to worry in his own goofy way. Smg4 knew he had failed him, and honestly, how could he ever gain forgiveness? From Mario, from the crew, from even himself? He didn't deserve it.
