aimee hughes. sister to colin hughes. singer, actor and the opposite of a football fan.
she kind of hated the game because she used to love it. when she was younger, she adored running around and kicking a ball. she loved standing in goal and throwing herself everywhere to block attacks. until she started to grow and with it, she started to notice the blatant sexism in their small welsh school.
they stopped passing her the ball. they started saying she couldn't play because she was a girl.
sometimes he wished she could go back and tell them to eat shit. she wished she continued to play. but those moments all built up to her disliking men's football.
she much preferred attending a women's match. she thought the atmosphere was a lot nicer too. more family-friendly. she couldn't exactly voice these thoughts when her older brother was a men's football player. he played for afc richmond, a premier league team in london, while evie pursued her career across the ocean in la.
well, that was before. after the last album she released and the final season of a tv show, she decided she needed a break. she'd been doing back-to-back projects since she was fourteen, and at twenty-three, she decided she needed time off. her most recent heartbreak was the catalyst, leaving her feeling unfulfilled in her career.
so, she moved to london to be near her brother, who she had barely seen since leaving the country. she'd visited but schedules rarely aligned the way they wanted them too.
the second she touched down in the uk and moved to her new flat in london, she got into contact with him. she desperately missed her older brother.
and colin desperately missed his little sister. so much so that they ended up talking until all hours of the morning, the man crashing in her spare room. he left the next morning, forgetting his phone in his rush to get to training. he didn't want to be late when they had just gotten a new coach, even if he was a bit of a joke.
aimee woke up hours later, knowing she needed to try and keep a normal sleep schedule while not working, but that she was bad at doing such a thing without something to do.
she moved to clean the guest room, noticing his phone still on the bedside table.
guess she was taking it to him at work.
