There wasn't a single thing I could comprehend. Incandescent lights gleamed intensely on my battered surface. I felt soreness all over my limbs as I looked up at the horizon.I could feel the coldness in the air as thick smoke appeared when I exhaled. My tan skin turned purple to the core as time passed slowly.
Then something caught my attention. I heard faint steps delicately approaching me. I tried to turn my head towards the sound, but my body simply wouldn't respond because of the fatigue.
Defeated, I closed my eyes and sighed. That's when I felt an overwhelming presence towering over me. My eyes shot wide open as I felt immense pain in my neck. Blood streamed down as I gasped for air. The injury on my neck prevented me from breathing properly. I felt something grab me by the ankle and start pulling me backward. As I desperately tried to escape from this unknown beast, the chilling snow burnt my skin, I groaned in agony.
Tears of regret and misery formed in my drained chocolate eyes, making it hard for me to see anything. I just wanted to die. I had had enough of this suffering.
—"PLEASE JUST KILL ME!"—
I screamed.
The creature suddenly stopped. I couldn't hear or see anything. It was all dark. I was alone in an abyss filled with depth and fear. Then I heard it.
—"Oh, you stupid Zainka."—
My eyes snapped open to find myself tied up inside a car. I struggled to move as I tried to cut the ropes that bound me. I winced at the pressure on my hip and groaned as I realized I couldn't remove the restraints. I looked around and assessed the car I was in. It was a five-seat vehicle with tinted windows, its seats covered in thick, expensive leather, and its exterior completely black. It seemed to be a Bugatti Voiture Noire. What a gorgeous car, I thought.
I was so distracted by the car that I completely forgot I was sick, tired, and weak. And, must I add, where the hell was I?! I planned to act unconscious to try and overpower the monster who had kidnapped me. But I was grateful, after all; they had done me a favor, I would have died of hypothermia if they hadn't taken me. But that's still no justification for kidnapping someone. I was angry but curious at the same time. Who was this mysterious person?
I heard the sound of keys clicking. I quickly laid down on the seat, pretending to be "unconscious." The air around me filled with a strong tobacco smell, and I couldn't help but inhale the bitter scent. I felt a cold hand in my hair and slightly flinched, staying completely still to avoid suspicion. Then I heard the car start. I had no idea what to do. Should I jump and try to attack them? No, I couldn't because of these damn ropes. I frowned with my eyes closed. At the same second fur was placed over my body. Huh, this person actually cared about me...? What the hell was going on? I was so confused.
After about half an hour, the car came to a stop. This person got out, and I panicked. What was going to happen to me now? They opened the door on my side of the car and carried me in their arms. This person was much stronger and bigger than I had originally thought. I opened my eyes; my head was behind their shoulder, so they shouldn't have been able to see me. I took in their characteristics: pale skin, blonde hair, about 6'6 and muscular. I swallowed and let him carry me inside.
—"Are you awake?"—
His voice was deep but still somewhat high-pitched. Because of that, I estimated he was in his mid-20s.
—"..."—
I said nothing. After all, I was afraid of what he would do if he knew I was awake. I pretended to be asleep to avoid any problems.
He sighed and opened a door. Instantly, I felt the warm air from a fire touching my freezing skin. He threw me onto the bed still tied up, and I didn't move. I couldn't risk being discovered in this critical state. I could die.
He grabbed a massive fur blanket and placed it on top of me. This sudden change in temperature gave me goosebumps. I laid peacefully on the large bed, covered with blankets and soft pillows. Was this place heaven? Was I dead?
Suddenly, I felt a wave of exhaustion. I knew it was a bad idea to fall asleep since I wasn't safe or at home, but my body had no more stamina or energy. I closed my eyes and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
