(The next two chapters, unfortunately will be Daffodil angst, so take this while I work out how to traumatize her)
"Leroy! Why did you lie to Eli like that? Have you forgotten about Sammy?" Zadkiel huffed.
Leroy shook his head and sighed. "No. And saying we're twins isn't even a lie, just a half-truth. It's easier than saying 'We're triplets with Samael but he was kicked out of heaven thousands of years ago.'"Zadkiel nodded. "I know... I just don't want everyone forgetting about Sammy like that..."
Leroy raised his hand as though he was going to put it on Zadkiels shoulder but suddenly jerked forward. "Ah!"
"MOLLY!" A androgynous voice called.
"Sorry! Sorry!" Leroy steadied himself and turned to the small pink spider-like angel standing behind him. "I'm so sorry Leroy." She turned to the pink-haired girl who had just walked up and whispered something to her.
The girl sighed and stuck out her hand. "Sorry to bother you guys. I'm Casil, she/he, and my quite clumsy friend here, is Molly, she/her."
Zadkiel smiled. "It's alright, no worries." It extended its hand and shook Casil's. "I'm Zadkiel, he/it and this is one of my triplet brothers; Leroy."Casil smiled softly. "Introduce yourself to Leroy." She turned to Molly and said.
Molly nodded, her cheeks tinted a darker pink than the rest of her. "I'm Molly. You're so handsome-" She jumped as though she startled herself and covered her mouth.
"Okay..? Thanks," Leroy replied awkwardly.Casil laughed and motioned to Zadkiel. "Let's leave those two alone, shall we?"
He got what she was getting at and giggled. "See you in a few, Lee." They walked a little ways outside the party room and over to Casil's table. "So, Casil was it?"
She nodded.
"Who are you here with? Another one of my siblings' partners or something?"
Casil pushed off the question. "As if. Do you know how cool it would be to be dating an archangel? No. I'm just here with my best friend who was practically dying to talk to your brother by the way."
Zad chuckled. "All the archangels are pretty awesome like that."
Casil cocked her head to the side. "You say that like you aren't one yourself."Zadkiel shrugged. "I'm not nearly as cool. Barely as popular, less powerful. The whole shabang."
"That doesn't mean you aren't just as great as any of em. Don't pull yourself down like that." Casil placed a comforting hand on his and squeezed it.
Zadkiel's heart fluttered a bit. "Thanks, Casil."
"Anytime." After a moment of silence, she perked up. "Hey, can I get your phone number?" She pulled out her small yellow phone, the case covered in stickers, and opened her contacts.
"Sure!" It took her phone and typed it in. '037-278-6377' (translates to 03 partners because im gay and uncreative like that)
"Awesome! Thanks!" Casil's face lit up as he handed the phone back. "So, why are you here today?" She prompted gently."Michael thought it would be good to get the entire family together again, it's been a while since we've all been in a room together, I almost forget how many damn siblings I had."
Casil's jaw dropped. "Wait, everyone in that room is your sibling?"
Zadkiel gazed back to the small party room. "Not everyone, but majority, yes." It glanced back to Casil and giggled. "Did you not realize all the archangels are family?"
Casil shook her head. "I guess I kind of assumed it was a job to be earned, not simply born into but it makes sense." She shrugged, pulling on one of her pink pigtails, which Zadkiel found adorable.A few moments passed with them staring at each other awkwardly before the pink spider winner - Molly - ran back out of the party room wailing, her arms outstretched. She ran into Casil's arms. "He ignored meeee!" She wailed.
Zadkiel's expression softened. "He's not the most open-minded person, I can talk to him about it if you would like."
Molly's eyes glittered as she looked up to Zadkiel. "Yes please!"
Zadkiel glanced backwards and noticed the waiter entering the room Molly had just come from. "I think we're gonna start ordering soon, so I should start heading back. It was nice to meet you Casil! And Molly as well!" He stood up and waved.
"You too Zadkiel! I'll text you!"
Molly cocked a brow. "You got his number?! Lucky!"
She pushed Molly back a bit, who was still leaning on her chest. "Not like that!" she rolled her eyes. "Sit down and tell me what happened with Leroy!"
Molly's face lit up more as she sat down across the table from Casil and began recounting her short interaction with Leroy like it was the best thing ever.
