Only A Dream

Chapter 4: Happy

Previously:

"Where is the pet shelter?"

Now:

"Why?" Natsu asked curiously. "And what does this have to do with Happy?"

"Well... funny story. Happy is a cat," I laughed nervously.

"Right. Of course he is." Natsu rubbed his forehead. "What did I expect?"

He was going to love this next part. "Actually, Happy is an Exceed. He's a little blue cat that you and Lisanna hatched out of an egg when you were young. He can fly, talk, and he is your very best friend. Well, Fiore you anyways."

Natsu started at me, then he laughed.

"What?" I asked.

"I always wondered what you'd be like if, no, when you woke up. I never imagined you'd be this imaginative."

I huffed, frustrated. "What was I supposed to do when I was asleep for EIGHTEEN YEARS!?! At least I made my dream a fun one." I turned my face so he wouldn't see the tears forming in my eyes while I thought of Fairy Tail. He saw them anyway.

"Hey, Luce, don't cry." He wiped a year that spilled onto my cheek.

I gasped. "You called me 'Luce'!"

"It suits you," he smiled.

Time skip!!! *At the pet shelter*

"And you're sure there are no blue cats here?" I asked the lady once again.

"I'm sorry, Miss, but there are no blue cats. No breeds that are a blue color. None here at least," the lady says for the tenth time.

I felt something warm over my hand. "Common Luce. I'm sure we'll find him." I liked down to see that Natsu's hand was covering mine.

I blushed. "Okay. I have one other idea where he might be."

As we walked our of the last of the animal shelters, I realized, 'I have no idea where I'm going.'

"H-Hey Natsu?" I asked shyly, still aware of his hand around mine.

"Yeah Luce?"

"Where is the local fish market? Or the largest fish selling place thingy?"

"Follow me!" He laughed as he lead me to the docks. "Here!"

I had no doubt that Happy would be here. There were so many tables stacked with fish (There were even some overflowing onto the ground).

"Okay! Start looking around for a small cat that is mostly a shade of blue except with white on the tip I'd his tail. He also may our may not have a green bandana around his neck."

Natsu looked to the north side while I looked south. No luck. I went around some of the building in the nearby area looking in alleys. Finally, right when I was about to give up, I saw the smallest hint of blue.

I snuck up on the little blue tail and grabbed the cat attached to it. A little Russian blue kitten, about the age of Happy in Fiore, was the source of the blue. He even had the white tail tip like Happy.

"Happy?" I asked trying not to scare the kitten.

The kitten meowed something that sounded like: "Aye!"

"I found you! Now you get a home and a loving best friend!"

I ran to Natsu, Happy still in my arms.

"Natsu! I found him!" I shoved Happy into Natsu's arms.

"Awww! He's so cute!" Natsu gushed.

"Well, he's yours now!" I giggled at Natsu's excited expression.

"Common Luce!" Natsu said pulling my hand. "You can stay with me and Happy since you don't have a place to stay!" I blushed.

"Lead the way."
