I said "I love you more"
You laughed and said "No, I do".
I won, but I lost.

I said "I'd be here forever"
You smiled and said "You'd be the one to leave"
I won, but I lost.

I said "I'll never leave you"
You glanced at me and said "One day you'll tire of me"
I won, but I lost.

I won, but I lost you.

I won, I told myself.

Trying to console myself, that somehow there was some silver lining.

Knowing it was never a competition but I still somehow lost what was most important to me.
