Letters I Can't Send (Archived Chapter)
The Other Side
Nevermore will the rabbit hole drug your wounded eyes.
Fell to the other side of the flag woven with lies.
When the summer breeze brought forth a dimming glow.
What did shine upon your river's chaotic flow?
In a triumph of seeking one's light surrounded by a deathly haze.
The letters float in the wildest waters with my nonchalant gaze.
I set the trap but didn't want you to be deceived.
And the feelings I neglected that you have received.
Ignorance of the reluctant blaze. This caused volition
A fire that caught you was never my pure intention.
For roads are meander; these efforts weren't paid.
Besmirched by the foot I set on the chaste carpet you laid.
You now live in a red country named 'the man you loved.'
One foot set on a mistaken step will lose what you have.
I wish you'll stay whilst my eyes at south. This remains benign.
I took the chance to get the knife out and cut this golden line.
