Adele's POV :

A year had passed since Alice and I had

first confessed our feelings for each

other, and life had become a beautiful

blend of love, laughter, and shared

dreams. Our relationship was no longer

a secret-everyone knew about us, and to

our relief, the media and the public had

been overwhelmingly supportive. It was

a new kind of happiness, one that made

me feel more grounded and complete

than ever before.

But there was something more I wanted,

something that had been on my mind for

a while now: the idea of starting a family

with Alice. I'd never imagined wanting

children before, but with her, everything

felt possible. The thought of having a

child who was part of both of us, who

carried a piece of our love into the

world, was a dream I couldn't shake.

A few months ago, I'd come across

something incredible-a new technology

that allowed two women to have a child

together, using both of their genetic

material. It was still experimental, the

doctor had warned, and there was no

guarantee it would work, but the

possibility was enough to fill me with

hope. I knew this was something I

wanted to explore with Alice, but I also

wanted to make sure it was something

she truly wanted.

One evening, as we lay in bed, I turned to

her, brushing a strand of hair away from

her face. "Alice," I began softly, "have you

ever thought about having kids?"

She blinked up at me, a little surprised

by the question. "I have, actually. But I

never thought it was possible... not

really."

"What if it was?" I asked, my heart racing

with anticipation. "What if we could have

a child who was a part of both of us?"

Alice's eyes widened, and I could see the

wheels turning in her mind. "Are you

serious? Is that even possible?"

I nodded, a small smile tugging at my

lips. "There's this new technology that

might make it possible. It's still in the

early stages, and it might not work... but

I think we should try."

She looked at me, a mix of excitement

and uncertainty in her eyes. "You really

want this?"

"I do," I admitted, my voice earnest. "But

only if you want it too. I want us to make

this decision together."

Alice took a deep breath, then smiled,

her hand coming up to rest on my cheek.

"Let's do it. Let's try."

Over the next few months, we began the

process, visiting doctors and learning

everything we could about the

technology. Each appointment brought a

mix of hope and fear, but we were in it

together, every step of the way.

The doctors explained that the process

involved using special devices to

introduce the combined genetic material,

and though it was unconventional, it was

a way to make our dream a reality. We

embraced the process together, knowing

that it was about more than just the

technology-it was about our connection,

our love.

There were moments when we'd sit

together, talking about what our child

might be like. Would they have Alice's

gentle smile or my stubborn streak? We

laughed about it, but there was a deeper

undercurrent of hope in those

conversations. We were building a future

together, one that went beyond just the

two of us.

One evening, as we lay in bed, the night

quiet around us, Alice turned to me with

a serious expression. "Adele, I've been

thinking... if this works, if we really do

have a child together, I want them to

know they were born out of love. I want

them to feel safe and cherished."

I pulled her close, pressing a soft kiss to

her forehead. "They will be, Alice. I

promise you that. This child, if we're

lucky enough to have one, will know just

how much they were wanted, how much

they were loved before they even

arrived."

She smiled, a small tear slipping down

her cheek, and I kissed it away, my heart

swelling with affection. "You're going to

be an amazing mother," I whispered

against her skin, and she held me tighter

in response.
