(Narrator POV)
It was a nice morning outside. Y/N got up and did her usual routine. While she was tending her hair, she suddenly came to a realisation.
"I fucking killed someone."
~
"Thanks mom.. I'll be going to school now."
Y/Ns mother just nodded her head and managed her a tired smile. The sun was out, making everything look bright and perfect. The streets were quiet, just the sound of kids playing in the distance and birds singing. She stepped out of her house, shutting the door behind her. The warmth of the sun didn't match how cold she felt inside as she started walking to school. Its almost as if the world outside was mocking her.
Her mind drifted to dark things. She thought about how bodies rot after death, how skin pulls back to show bones, and how blood leaves stains that never really go away. Across the street, a man walked his dog, the little thing happily bouncing along. Still, she managed to smile and wave when the man looked her way. She always had a soft spot for animals.
Everything around her seemed too good to be true. The leaves moved gently in the breeze, the sky was clear and blue, but she couldn't stop thinking about how it would all eventually fall apart. She imagined leaves rotting, worms crawling through the dirt, and insects picking at what was left behind.
When she got closer to school, she saw a group of girls laughing and talking like they didn't have a care in the world. She wished she could be like that, but she couldn't shake the thoughts that stuck with her. How she envied them, they certainly didn't deal with the things she did.
Taking a deep breath, she tried to push the thoughts away. As she stepped onto the school grounds, the noise of other students filled the air, making it harder to focus on the dark stuff.
"Y/N!!" Solana hugged her from behind.
She let out a light laugh and offered a warm greeting.~
The classes passed like any other, but she couldn't shake the unsettling feeling of having killed someone. It made her uncomfortable, yet there was something oddly familiar about it, as if it echoed a past life or hinted at something in her future.
11:25, Lunch break
(First person POV)
Zyaire and Solana were on about some.. party this morning. I should ask them again about it now.
I brought my tray next to Sols and sat down."So guys, whats this party about?"
"Okay so its gonna be held next weekend, remember the girl we talked about, Claire? Yeah shes hosting it and our whole grades invited."
"I think it's pretty sketchy of her to do one, especially after what happened to her with that guy. Im pretty sure he's invited too" Zyaire added.I thought for a moment. Maybe a party like that would take my mind off this uncomfortable situation. Maybe I'd feel better, or something.
"Well, we should totally go, I mean its not like we were involved, and who knows, what if we get to experience something of a lifetime?" I replied.
Solana and Zyaire gazed at me with sparkling eyes. I already knew that was a yes.
~
4 days later at Solana's house
"Y/N what do you think I should wear?"
"The red dress over there, that looks pretty."
"Ugh you think so? What about the green one?"
"Thats pretty too."
"I CANT CHOOOSEEE"
Spending time at Solana's was always fun. I couldn't exactly tell her what was up with me but hanging out with her always made me feel better. After an hour of picking dresses, (Holy hell did she have ALOT) she picked out a beautiful shimmery red dress, and I went with <dress of choice>. She told me it complimented me very well.
Well, the weekends in a day, wouldn't want to miss that party.
