    (First person POV)

It was the night before the party. I thought of walking to the park again, even though I probably shouldn't. Something in me kept drawing myself to the park, and I obviously listened to it.
I put my ears to my door, no sound. Looks like my parents were asleep. I opened my window and jumped out again. Funny how it never hurt me.

~

Sitting on the bench I realised how terrible of a person I am. Shocking shit.
Taking a long drag, I felt tears rolling down my eyes. What would I have been like if I grew up in a normal family, where my parents didnt resort to hostility whenever nuisance developed?

Im frightfully surprised. The police hadnt been notified of the death, nor found the body. There werent even stains or trails of blood left. I wonder who came and cleaned it? Its not like it rained in the past few days.
Life is strange.

~

At Solana's house, 2 hours away from the party

"Solana, I dont really think these shoes fit me. Id rather go with <shoes of choice> please."
"Alright fine, BUT I GET TO CHOOSE YOUR HANDBAG."
"Sure sure"

While Solana was doing my hair, I got a text from Zyaire telling us he'll be picking us up in an hour. I repeated this to Solana.

50 minutes later~

"Girl you look absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS"
"SO DO YOU"
"Lets go wait outside for Zyaire, he'll be here soon."

A car pulled up infront of Solanas house, we waved her mother goodbye before getting in Zyaires cars backseat.
"So girls, what music should I play?"

~
   (Narrator POV)

The bass thumped through the walls as they stepped inside, the party already in full swing. Lights flashed in every corner, bodies danced in rhythm. Zyaire led the way, flashing his usual confident grin at anyone who caught his eye, while Solana followed closely, already nodding her head to the beat.

"Finally made it," Solana said, her voice barely audible over the music. Her eyes were wide with excitement, taking in the scene around them.

Zyaire found them a spot near the back, close enough to the action but not too deep into the crowd. He snagged a couple of drinks from a passing tray, handing one to Solana before turning to Y/N.

"Want one?" he offered, raising an eyebrow.

She shook her head with a slight smile. "I'm good for now."

They stood there for a while, letting the atmosphere sink in. Y/N watched as Solana effortlessly slipped into conversation with a group nearby, her laughter cutting through the noise. Zyaire was quick to follow, his charm pulling people in like always.

"Come on, loosen up!" Zyaire called out to her, gesturing for her to join them. Solana gave her an encouraging nod, her smile warm and inviting.

She sighed, giving in and stepping closer. The group welcomed her easily, and soon enough, she found herself laughing at some ridiculous story Solana was telling about their last adventure. The tension in her shoulders eased, the music's rhythm syncing with her pulse, the weight of the world lifting just a little in the shared laughter.

Someone handed her a drink, and she took it more out of politeness than desire, holding the cool glass between her palms as she listened to Zyaire argue about the best local DJ. Solana countered with her own favorite, her enthusiasm infectious. Y/N found herself nodding along, even though she didn't really care who was better. It was just nice to be part of something, even if it was just a debate over music.

"Okay, okay, truce," A boy there said with a grin, holding up his hands in surrender. He turned to Y/N . "What about you? You've been too quiet. What's on your mind?"

She hesitated, not sure how to answer. Her mind wasn't really on the party, or the music, or even the conversation. She felt a pull, something quieter, more insistent. But she didn't want to spoil the mood, so she just shrugged. "Just taking it all in."

Zyaire looked at her for a moment, like he was trying to read something in her expression. Then, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a huge chocolate bar. "You hungry? Here, take this. It's always good to have something sweet at a party."

She couldn't help but laugh, taking the chocolate bar and slipping it into her dress pocket. "Thanks, Zyaire. You're always prepared."

"Gotta be," he said with a wink. "Never know when a chocolate emergency might hit."

They chatted a bit longer, the conversation drifting from one topic to another, but that pull was still there, tugging at her, making her feel a bit out of sync with the scene around her.

"Hey, I think I'm gonna hit the bathroom," she said, her voice louder than it needed to be to cut through the music.

"Alright," Solana said with a smile. "Don't get lost."

She nodded, slipping away from the group, but instead of heading toward the bathroom, she kept her eyes peeled for an escape—a place away from the chaos where she could breathe.

After walking through hundreds of people, she found it: a grand doorway at the far end of the hallway, slightly open, leading to a giant balcony. She slipped outside, greeted by a gust of cool night air that instantly cooled her skin. The noise from the party was muffled out here, the only sounds being the distant hum of the city and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze.

The sky was a deep, velvety black, speckled with stars. The crescent moon hung low, its silver light casting a soft glow. A cool breeze rustled the leaves, the air fresh with a hint of pine. She stood quietly, feeling at peace beneath the vast, quiet sky. She leaned against the railing, closing her eyes for a moment, letting the wind brush against her face and push strands of hair out of place. This was what she needed. Away from the noise, the people, the pressure to fit in.

She pulled the cigarette pack from her pocket, her fingers brushing against the chocolate bar Zyaire had given her. She smiled to herself, then pulled out a lighter and lit up. The first drag was like a release, a weight lifting from her shoulders as the smoke curled lazily into the night.

She stayed like that for a while, just her, the stars, and the quiet. She let her thoughts drift, carried away on the breeze, until the cigarette burned low, and she flicked the butt over the edge of the balcony.

Way too lost in her thoughts, she didn't see the man creeping up behind her.

~

(First person POV)

I crushed the last of my cigarette, ready to head back inside.

I turned around. My hands shaking as I tried to grasp what I saw just then. The world seemed to tilt, every sound becoming distant and hollow. I opened my mouth, but no words came out-just a breathless gasp.
Panicking, I opened the package and offered my chocolate bar to the guy in a yellow jacket, holding up a gun to my forehead.
I couldnt see his reaction, he has this feminine type of mask on? But I could surely tell he was amused. He lifted up his mask just a bit and took a bite of the chocolate from my hand, his other hand still holding the gun upto my forehead.

"Name?" he asked in a deep commanding voice, the words coming from behind his mask with an unsettling, hollow echo, resonating with a warmth that made it hard to ignore.

"Y-Y/N." I blurted out.

"Found 'er." I could almost hear the smirk in his voice, when I looked behind him and saw a girl with brown hair and an odd eye I couldnt really notice, and another guy with messy hair that kept twitching every 5 seconds. They were fucking scary.

"Knock her out" the girl with the odd eye shouted. I couldnt make out just WHAT was happening when I felt the yellow jacket guy's gun hit my head-

And then she blacked out.
