If This is Redemption, I Don't Want It

I feel bad for no content since school started, so here's an old draft I found lying around. I'm working on the one I promised though! :)

This is kind of based around the idea that Tommy continued to visit Dream in prison which I think would have been really cool to see.

TW: Manipulation, C!Dream being a warning all by himself.

Hope you enjoy! 💕

Sam leaves his post exactly at midday and stays gone for two hours. He has taken out the security cameras in my cell since I am no longer considered a 'flight risk', so I am free to do whatever I like without consequences.

Come and visit me, Tommy, I  know  you want to. It'll be tricky to get in the prison again, but I'm sure you can figure it out. You've always been so...resilient.

I'll be waiting :)

The note was crumpled in Tommy's fist, holding onto it tightly like it was a lifeline he was afraid to lose. This wasn't the first time Dream had sent him a letter like this. Since he had been revived, Tommy had received what could only have been a hundred of messages from Dream that he hid away as soon as he got them.

Just having to look at the man's handwriting and read his sugar-coated words made him sick to his stomach. But this time, this time morbid curiosity got the better of him, making him break his personal promise of no-contact between them.

Dream was telling him to visit him again. After he killed Tommy to prove a petty point, he actually thought he would want to visit him. It was insanity!

No one in their right mind would take up such an offer. Tommy was free now, he didn't even want to THINK about Dream, let alone see his face, or worse, hear his voice again.

So, if that was the case, why was Tommy standing across from him, note in trembling hand and an empty invisibility potion strapped to his belt. Dream was looking at him like a predator cornering its favorite prey, and Tommy now realized he was literally backed into a corner. Even if he tried to run, Dream would catch him before he could make it across the cell.

"Tommy! I knew you would come!" Dream said, his voice as cheerful as if he just received the greatest present of his life. "I thought you weren't getting my messages since you never wrote back."

"Maybe it's because I didn't want to communicate with my abuser," Tommy spat back. "I burned every single one of them as soon as they arrived."

That was a lie. He never threw them away, just put them in a chest that he placed under his bed. He could never bring himself to destroy them even when he couldn't stand to read them. And by the smug smile on Dream's face, Tommy knew he called his bluff.

"Well, that doesn't matter now, does it. All that does is that you came! Sit, sit, tell me everything that's been going on with you." He patted the place besides him on the floor.

Tommy shuffled forward and sat down, keeping a good distance between them. Dream's eyebrows pinched together at the small act of rebellion, but his smile didn't falter.

His mask was off, something that Tommy hated. He knew he was one of the few people that have seen Dream's face and it wasn't exactly an honor.

The man's features were surprisingly soft, making him look like a sympathetic older brother who would take care of you if you asked. But Tommy knew that warm smile could turn into an ugly sneer at the drop of a dime.

Those green eyes were only windows into Dream's true feelings, that possessiveness turned obsession that made a shiver run down Tommy's spine every time he looked into them.
