Chapter 20 - Siya?

On their way to Malana, the trio could feel people following them but they decided to stay shut and wait for the right moment.

It was already dark by the time they reached Vindhyachal Parvat so they decided to spend their night there.

Kaal went to search for some water while Rudra and Dhara started to light a fire to keep themselves warm at night.

"How did you meet Kaal?" Rudra questioned.

"How did I meet Kaal?"

"That is a long story! Do you want to listen to it now?" Dhara said again after a small pause.

"Yes!"

"Okay then!"

Rudra folded his legs and sat in front of Dhara.

Dhara then went forward and told him about how she wanted to defeat Kaal, how they fought with each other and also told him about their journey to Vaani Nagar.

"Those guards thought that you were there to marry him?" Rudra said and started laughing.

"Do a lot of women like Kaal?" Dhara asked Rudra even though she was afraid of the answer that she might get.

"Yes, but he has eyes for only one person," Rudra said.

"Who?" Dhara asked with her eyes widened in shock.

"That is for only Kaal to answer!"

Before Dhara could say any further Kaal returned.

"What are you both talking about?" Kaam said as he started to drink some water.

"Your crush!" Dhara replied nonchalantly.

"My What-?" Kaal said almost choking.

"I said we were talking about who your crush is," Dhara said again and started to stroke Kaal's back.

"Rudra told me that you have eyes for only one person but wouldn't tell me the name ." Kaal shot a glare towards Rudra who on the other end ignored it.

"So who is she?"

"No one! And I am very tired and want to take some rest. Rudra I would like to talk to you tomorrow." Kaal answered, his tone cold.

With this Kaal went to sleep leaving behind an extremely scared Rudra.

Dhara who was saddened hearing Kaal's cold tone didn't say a word and went to sleep.

Kaal's Pov

Dhara was hurt and I could feel it. But I don't want her to lose her by telling her about my feelings. I am scared she might leave me after she knows about it.

My chain of thoughts was interrupted as I heard someone tip-toeing towards me. And I knew for a fact that it was not Dhara considering her speed.

My hands moved to my sword but before I could do anything I heard a small scream that I right away recognized. And the scene that was in front of me made my blood cold from fear.

"SIYA!"

I quickly got up and took my sword out and yanked Dhara's sword which resulted in her falling.

I quickly went towards Siya and checked if she was hurt anywhere.

"Siya? Are you okay? Tell me! You didn't get hurt right?" I asked her.

"I am alright don't worry," she replied and I took a breath of relief.

Dhara's Pov

My sleep was disturbed as I heard the rustling of leaves. I opened my eyes only to find a person, most probably a woman, standing in front of Kaal.

I swiftly but silently went towards her and before she could touch Kaal I pulled my sword out and put it near her neck.

As if sensing someone near him Kaal's eyes opened and when he saw me, he quickly got up and took his sword out. I thought someone was behind me so I looked behind and when I turned back I found Kaal's sword yanking my sword away which resulted in me falling.

At first, I thought he made a mistake but then I saw him checking that woman out to see if I had hurt her or not.

Rudra who woke up because of the sudden noise was startled to see me on the ground.

He got up and ran towards me and asked me what happened. But before I could say anything a few men attacked us.

I got up and started fighting followed by the other two.

During the fight, I could see how Kaal just tried to protect that woman and didn't care about anything else.

We took down the men but I could feel that this was not over. I could sense something coming towards us with full force.

I used my power to make a shield around us. I glanced back and found Kaal holding that woman's hand and telling her something. And then I looked at Rudra who was continuously staring at that woman.

I turned around again as a lone tear escaped my eyes.

I blinked my eyes and the next time I opened them I found black shadows coming towards us.

The shadows all attacked us which finally caught the duo's attention.

Author's Pov

The three came together to fight the spirits.

Dhara found the woman being taken away by one of the shadows and immediately ran towards her. She then pulled her behind her and started to fight the spirit.

It was at that moment when another spirit attacked Siya. But before anything could happen Dhara came in front of her and she took the blow for her.

All of this caught Rudra's eye and he ran towards them.

Dhara got up holding her stomach and spit some blood out. She was too exhausted now and wanted to end this once and for all.

She stood straight and started to mutter some mantras. Her eyes were bloodshot, hands open as if to control something.

In a split second, the roots of the trees came out of the ground and stood in front of her as if waiting for her to order them.

"Them now!" Dhara said and pointed to the black shadows. The roots went towards them with full force and took them inside the ground with them.

Dhara again closed her eyes and when she opened them again she saw a black figure standing at a distance.

"We finally meet!" Daitya said.

"Daitya!" Dhara spoke as her jaws clenched and her hands formed a fist.

She wanted to follow him but didn't have the energy to. Blood was continuously dripping from different parts of her body.

She slowly turned around only to see Kaal and Rudra both surrounding the same woman from before.

She sighed and started to walk towards a tree for some support. But before she could take another step forward she fell and lost consciousness.
