At the end of the work day, Finn came to pick you up as he had promised you. Only he was a little late.

Everyone else had already left and they had invited you to go with them, but you explained to them that you had promised Finn to wait for him. On the way out, Esme grinned and winked at you with the words "You like each other, don't you?"

You only rolled your eyes at her, denying her crazy theory. You were still sitting in the cage office. You had leaned back with your feet on the table and had fallen asleep while you waited.

Your sleep did not last long, because you woke up from a door squeak. You were startled and in the dark you couldn't see who had entered the room. You opened the first drawer and pulled out a gun, you knew there was a weapon because Polly had warned you. You didn't know how to shoot, but you pointed the gun at the dark figure in front of you.

"Don't move or, I'll shoot!" your voice was trembling, your hands were shaky. The figure raised his hands in the air and you fired. The bullet flew out and slammed into the wall far to the side of the person in front of you.

"I said don't move, dumbshit." you repeated as the figure moved to the side and turned on the lights. "Oh, shit!" you mumbled when you realised it was just Finn.

"First time?" he said as he approached you, his eyes glued to the gun in your hand.

"Is it that obvious?" you chuckled.

"Yea, your hands were shaky and the bullet came nowhere near me." he reached out from the other side of the desk and took the gun from your hand. His fingers slightly came in contact with yours, sending shivers down your spine.

"Can you teach me?" you sat back down in your chair.

"Tommy-" he started, but you cut him short "You don't have to ask Tom's permission for everything. I have a feeling that you will soon ask him for permission to live." you carefully watched how his expression changed. From unsure and anxious now he looked confident.

"Sure, I'll teach you." with a smirk lingering on his lips he walked around the desk to your side. He leaned against the desk and spun your chair so you could face him. He was standing between your legs, towering over you. The room was filled with tension and you didn't dare to break the intense eye contact.

"You're a peaky blinder now, (Y/n), hmm?" he took of his peaky cap and carefully placed it on your head.

"Mhm."you fixed the hat and nodded.

Finn had started to treat you well and kept his promises, so soon you forgave him for calling you a whore.
The two of you went home and spent time together with Polly Michael and Ada. They really wanted to get to know you and so did you.

After it got pretty late, you went up to Finn's bedroom and he followed you shortly after. You saw that a blanket, a pillow and another fluffy blanket were laid on the ground. Finn huffed at that sight.

"You can sleep on the bed." you suggested as you opened your suitcase and pulled out your pj's.

"Tommy won't be happy if he sees us sleeping in the same bed." he took off his vest and began unbuttoning his shirt.

"I didn't mean that. I wanted to say that I have no problem sleeping on the ground after all, this is your room." you chuckled at the idea of sleeping in the same bed as him, it seemed so absurd.

"Oh, right." Finn awkwardly scratched his neck. He had taken off his shirt and now he was wearing only a white singlet, the suspenders of his pants hung down around his thighs.

"What's the deal with you and Tom anyway?" you asked still not sure who Finn actually was.

"He's my older brother." he said as he began unbuttoning his trousers. Unfortunately, you didn't notice that and turned around only after his pants fell around his ankles and you saw his dark blue boxers.

"I didn't know that the Shelbys had a fourth brother." you said as you tried to shook away the sight you had just seen.

"It's normal not to know that. After all I'm the brother they never got around to." he said his voice drastically changing. He sounded sad.

"What do you mean by that?" you couldn't help it, but turn around again. You made sure to look only up towards his eyes.

"Sometimes even I forget that I'm their brother." he walked past you and sat down on the bed, covering himself with the blanket "They either treat me like a baby or just a random peaky boy." he rolled his eyes.

"I'm sure it's because they don't want you to get hurt." you sat down next to him. He huffed not agreeing.

"You won't understand." he crossed his arms before his chest, leaning against the headboard of the bed.

"Don't underestimate me, Finn." you were offended by the fact that he didn't even try to explain.

"I just don't feel like a Shelby sometimes." his voice was well filled with sadness "I've never told this to anyone before." he added after a few seconds. His eyes searched for yours and when they met the both of you had tears in your eyes.

"You are a Shelby, though, and you are just as important as they are." as you said a single tear rolled down his cheek. Finn hurried to wipe it away. "It's okay, you can cry. I won't tell anyone, I promise." you chuckled slightly trying to lift the mood up.

"I don't cry, I'm a man." he wiped yet another tear. You felt sorry for him because he thought that way.

"Finn, you do cry because you're a man." surprising even yourself you pulled him into a hug, trying to comfort him. He laid down on your chest, your legs intertwined.

You started playing with his hair "It's okay, it's okay. Let it all out." you whispered softly. He began roaring loudly, wetting your shirt.

After what seemed like a decade Finn finally fell asleep. You started at him for a bit, he was sleeping peacefully, not a single sign of the pain in his heart was showing. Soon you fell asleep as well.
