My patience was more thin than it had ever been and I was more anxious then ever to see Chase. The doctors came out hours before stating he had been poisoned and they had to reverse the effects which could cause to his death along with the oxygen deprivation. It made me anxious to think of what could become of him. As I have learned, just when life begins to make you happy or show you hope-something knocks it down.
That knocker came in the from of a six foot one dominant holding an unspoken threat.
"You scream I kill you." He said as he spoke with a low tone. He showed me a syringe before placing it in his hand. "Did you know that air directed anywhere in the body directly causes instant death? I learned this in college before realizing being a doctor wasn't what I wanted. Too cliche. A psychopath as a doctor?"
"Did you always know you'd be one? A psycho?"
"You're adorable. Actually I did. At a young age actually...I felt consumed with dark thoughts. Brought on most by mother's submissives. I found the pain she caused them, I wanted to inflict. Therefore...dominant was born."
"How are you here?"
"I told you, I don't take no for an answer and any minute now they'll discover me missing and Chase will awaken-or not (a doctor will come out) and find you gone as well."
"You will have to kill me to get me to leave with you..."
"See...that's where you don't think...I always have connections dear Adelaide. One of the surgeons in with your dear Chase, is waiting for my call to tell him to kill him. Just one slip of the blade or lack of oxygen and woops...dead corpse on a table. Happens all the time..."
"Why?"
"Because I get chased, and since you made me chase you...You'll get what you deserve...me." He said it as if we were having a normal conversation. "It was brilliant on telling Earon you were pregnant, too bad I know it's a lie. I guess I was right after all though, you are smart. But I'm smarter..."
"You sure about that?" I said deciding to play a rather dangerous card.
He cocked his head in confusion. "Maybe I was the one with the master plan...to be with you. Knowing that you will want to rid him-you did the job for me. I like being chased don't you get it?" I said as I got up to walk in the hall. "I like men begging for me, and you did it all too easy." I decided I had to get that syringe no matter the cost. "And your jealousy made it the biggest motive, the easiest card to play. But the only problem....now I don't want you anymore. I don't want a murderer..."
He placed his hands on my waist as it took all my will not to break each wrist. "Baby, please. I'm sorry. I'll-we'll just go. Forget about him, forget about all of this...just us..."
"No...I think I'll let you contemplate when you ruined. I mean we could have had contract signed and me tied up by now."
"There's a supply closet-let me show you I still desire you."
"Fine." I said as he pulled me into the room, setting the syringe on the table before turning to set his phone as well as his keys and wallet on the table and locking the door. I took hold of the syringe as he pushed he against the wall and kissed me, I forced myself to think it was Chase although it was a clear difference. He removed his clothes quick, followed by mine before beginning. The sharp entry made me groan as I showed little interest which was genuine. He then pushed me onto the ground before I took control and as he closed his eyes to bask in the pleasure, I slid the syringe from my sleeve and he opened his eyes just as it inserted his arm. He tore it out and lifted me against the counter.
"I should have known better than to trust you." He said as his grasp got hard on my neck. My back was hard against the counter and my vision was becoming blurry.
"I have one last question?" I asked as he allowed me to speak. "What about Mitch?"
"In the beginning, he was just a lustful executive. Arnold, my boss which you met the night of the car show was originally my target to throw himself at you but I though you may actually let him. That way you were damaged and hurt and I was a hero at your rescue."
"And you want to kill me?"
"No. Just make you submit, to agree..." As he turned as somebody tried to enter the supply room, I found to my greatest luck, a stack of syringes beside me. If by a sign, I pumped it and injected it into his vain in his arm before fell and I screamed, placing his hand as if he injected it himself. I was then finally brought away from him and he was gone. His lifeless body was taken away and I wasn't subjected anymore torment.
As the night passed as I grasped the moments of that night, I found how lucky I was as Chase woke up beside me. His eyes filled with tears as his voice was hoarse.
"It's okay." I said as I saw him worried and as he saw my marks. "I'm alright. How are you?"
"Where's that son of a bi**h?"
"Dead."
His expression became relieved before I explained everything. Each detail.
"And what of Earon?"
"He was caught trying to get into Canada. Hung himself this morning. The other guy is a schizophrenic."
"And what about Jason? Mitch?"
"Mitch knocked some drug dealer's daughter up and is paying for it with his life and as for Jason, he makes Lisa happy..but if he ever hurts her, he's dealing with me..."I said with happy tears in my eyes.
"And about us..." He began as he held my hand into his. "I wanted to ask you something..."
I nodded before he sat up and kissed my hands. "You saved my life and I wish I could have done the same. But I wanted to ask you a promise."
"Okay?"
"I know I can't give you what he could have, but I can give you something he never could have...a true love that will last forever. I have known for years since I saw you and I'll always know. But I need to know right now that you love me."
"I love you with all I am."
"Then marry me. I know it's fast and unorthodox but everything about us is. I just want to be yours and you mine and no talk about this ever again. I can't stand knowing he was with you, but I can't stand even more that I can't be so marry me Adelaide."
I nodded as I couldn't bring myself to speak. And as I enjoyed the moment I saw out of the corner of my eye the vision of Vincent. A quick arrogant smile and he disappeared. I shook it off before I was called to review the cameras to close the case. The same date I was proposed to, I saw the figure watching me and vanish down the hall before looking to the camera. It was him...the man who would forever haunt my dreams. My dominant, my fifty shades...Vincent Chadwick....
