a few weeks went by and aurélie didn't hear a word from julian, she figured he would already be in japan again and therefore couldn't see him.
besides her inner turmoil and the need to do something to take her mind off, she was drowned in practise and barely had any time for friends anymore.
if she wasn't home then she was at the court nearby that she used to play matches with a girl that she met.
the two were always meeting up at the same time and never really talked other than to agree on something.
sitting on the court floor after the girl had left she was all alone, airpods in her ears as she listened to french songs that complimented her mood for the last few days.
they were calm and mostly instrumental ones but it had the one or the other more aggressive one playing as she felt the bubbling anger in her chest.
every fourth day a new boutique of flowers would arrive, always on time when the others were hanging their heads and dead.
she had her hands covering her face as she felt a lone tear falling from her eyes, it was the beginning of another crying session and this time she wasn't in her secluded room away from prying eyes.
a hand was placed on her shoulder which made her jerk away instinctively, her hand lowering a bit to peek at the person.
when she saw who it was she only buried her face in her hands again as she pulled her knees to her chest, crying her heart out.
the hand moved to her back, moving up and down and drawing patterns to comfort her. to say they did a bad job was an understatement but she was glad for the attempt.
he didn't look at her, instead he was looking at the beautiful sunset before them on the sky, the stars peeking out as the moon was glowing more and more.
shaking her head she didn't stop crying at all, „why are you here? do you want to see me suffer even more?"
he made a disapproval sound, „the opposite actually. you've been miserable for the last few days and didn't take a break between school and practise."
„it's unhealthy." he came to the conclusion.
„oh really? i wonder why." she replies sarcastically.
„oh? we're being sarcastic now?"
„shut up! it's all your fault anyways!" she shouts at him, „you always have to ruin something!"
his hand froze on her back before he took it back to his lap, his eyes holding sadness as he stares at the sky.
„maybe. i.. i just cant show affection properly i guess."
she scoffs with a runny nose, „you think? you're shit at it actually."
he chuckles at her words, „at least your not crying anymore."
she rubs her eyes, wiping away her tears as she huffs, „you'll never give up, do you?"
he shakes his head, „maybe, i should've a long time ago but i cant."
the two were in silence after that, the girl hiccuping from time to time as she sniffled.
her hand slowly went towards her racket that julian bought her as a good luck charm, a red tint was on the white handle from the red soil the court was on.
her white tennis dress had red spots everywhere and her once white sneakers where now red.
a ping on her phone made her take it, looking at her lockscreen as her phone automatically unlocks with her face id.
her face pales, her lips wobbling again and tears gathering in her eyes before she lets out a pained sound from her lips.
her phone falling to the ground as she hid her face once more, her tears now flowing even faster, her breath getting quicker as her throat began to hurt.
she shakes her head before she tried to stand up to leave.
tho she didn't have any strength in her arms and fell down to the floor again, the boy next to her had a worried look in his eyes as he watched the girl.
his gaze went to her phone that was unlocked, his jaw tighting at the words he read.
'sorry i didn't say goodbye. i have to stay a bit longer in japan than i thought. i also have a few games around so i don't think i'll be back soon.'
'to take away your pain of missing me i think it would be best to break up. the past few months were everything to me and i wont forget them ever. i really hope you find someone who might cheer you up and that you won't dwell on me too much like i do for you.'
'again i'm very sorry to do this, take care of tommy for me. sincerely julian.'
he knew her world broke down, alone from the words that he read - he just glanced at them and put two and two together - he wanted to help her, even if she hated him.
it was clear that julian didn't break up with her because he saw the two talking after her match, rather because of the long distance they would have.
tho the girl could visit him often even he knew that it wouldn't be enough for her to quell her thirst to see him, to hear or feel his touch.
he slowly opened his arms for her and in that moment she didn't care who it was, she just wanted to have someone hugging her, taking the pain away.
even tho he loves her he was set to heal her, to wait and take the broken pieces of her and to put them back together.
he would do anything for her, they may have been together when they were younger but he changed, just like she did.
quiet footsteps were here patterning on the soil before a fluffy paw made its way between the boy and the girl.
her arms going around the pet as she cried even harder while the corgi stared at the boy with sad eyes.
not only did julian leave aurélie alone but also the puppy the two spent most of their time with.
sighing he brings the corgi into his arms as well as he stared at the sunset, his chin on the girls head as she cried into his chest with tommy in her arms.
to say the upcoming time would be hard for the girl would be an understatement.
