Jason woke the following morning to find Daisy sitting on the side of the bed watching him. He raised an eyebrow at her. In return she smiled at him. "How long have you been watching me sleep?" he muttered.

"For awhile," she answered.

"That's a little disturbing, sweetheart," Jason said, propping himself up on his elbow.

"What's disturbing is that you talk in your sleep," Daisy said.

"I do not," Jason protested.

"Oh, but you do," Daisy said, smirking.

Jason grabbed her by the waist, pulling her down to lay beside him. He wrapped his arm around her and pressed his lips to her neck. She shivered, and he smiled. "Good morning, Mrs. Cooper."

"Good morning," Daisy said.

"You claim I talk in my sleep," Jason said, his eyes lit with amusement. "If that's true, what did I say?"

"You were mumbling, but I did manage to catch a few words," Daisy said. "You said and I quote, 'She's mine. Not letting her go'. What were you dreaming of?"

Jason tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I dreamed Shawn found out about us. He wasn't happy we were married. He demanded we get an annulment. I refused, he punched me, and we fought. It wasn't a pleasant dream."

"Doesn't sound like it," Daisy said. "Was I in your dream?"

"No." Jason caressed her cheek. "And I don't want you to be there when he learns the truth."

"I thought we agreed we would sit the family down and tell them together," Daisy said, frowning.

"We did agree, but sweetheart things could get ugly," Jason said. "I don't want you to witness it - to go through it."

"It's going to affect me, whether I'm there or not," Daisy pointed out. "We're in this marriage together. We will tell them together."

"All right," Jason said. "If that's how you want it."

"It is," Daisy said. "I'm going to go start breakfast."

Jason kissed the tip of her nose. "I'll be down soon."

Daisy scooted toward the edge of the bed and let out a low groan when she felt a twinge of pain between her legs.

"What's wrong?" Jason asked concerned.

"I'm fine," Daisy told him. "Just a little sore."

"I'm sorry," Jason uttered quietly. "I was too rough last night. I should've been more gentle. I never-"

"Hush." Daisy laid a finger against his lips. "You didn't hurt me. I would've said something if you had." She leaned in close and whispered in his ear, "But you husband are insatiable. Three times in one night is a first for me."

"Are you complaining?"

"No," Daisy rushed to assure him. "Not at all. Last night was amazing."

"It sure was," Jason agreed, his gaze warm. "Would you like me to draw you a bath? It will help with the soreness."

"It's sweet of you to offer, but I'm fine. I'll see you downstairs." Daisy headed downstairs to the kitchen, where she found the ingredients she needed to make pancakes and bacon.

Jason had made her a wonderful dinner. She wanted to return the favor with breakfast.

Jason rang the McIntyre's doorbell and tried not to fidget. He was nervous to see Daisy's mom and grandma. He knew it was because he and Daisy were keeping the fact that they were married a secret from them.

At that moment, Shawn opened the door. "Hey, man. Come on in." He stepped aside and Jason crossed the threshold. "Everyone is in the living room. They're anxious to get the ball rolling."

"Then let's not keep them waiting." Jason followed him to the living room. Daisy's mom, Gayle, and her grandma, Eloise, occupied matching wingback chairs. Daisy sat on the couch.

Jason studied his new mother-in-law. Dark circles marred the skin beneath her brown eyes. Feeling sorry for her, he bent over and kissed her cheek.

"Hello, honey," Gayle said, smiling weakly. "How are you?"

"I'm doing fine," Jason said. "How are you holding up?"

"Okay, I guess," she sighed.

"I'm going to do everything in my power to bring Don home to you," Jason told her.

Gayle touched his cheek. "I believe you. Thank you."

Jason gave her fingers a gentle squeeze before moving to Daisy's grandma. "Hello, Miss Eloise," he said, taking her hand and gazing into her wise blue eyes.

"Hello, dear." Eloise patted his hand. "It's so good to see you. It's been awhile."

"Yes, it has," he said. "I've been busy, but that's no excuse. I'll do better about coming to see you more often."

"Please do."

Jason pecked her on the forehead and then moved toward the couch. His gaze met and held Daisy's. He wanted to kiss her, but he couldn't let on that they were together. So he did what he would have normally done when greeting her. He gave her a hug.

The feel of her body combined with her scent brought forth images from their night of lovemaking. He stifled a curse when he felt himself growing hard.

Quickly, he released her and took a seat beside her, making sure to leave enough space between them so they wouldn't touch. He took a deep breath and willed his body to calm down.

"Before you begin," Gayle said. "Would you like a cup of coffee?"

"No, thank you." Jason cleared his throat. "I contacted a friend of mine yesterday. His name is Ridge Forrester. He's a private investigator."

"How did you two meet?" Shawn inquired.

"We met at the mechanic shop," Jason replied. "I was there to pick my car up and he was there to drop his off. We talked while we waited. That was six years ago."

"And he's agreed to find Don for us?" Eloise said.

"That's right." Jason adjusted his tie. "He wants to meet with everyone and get as much information about Don as he can. I told him I would get with you and come up with a day and time that'd work for everyone."

Shawn brought up the calendar app on his phone and they went over their schedules. They soon agreed on a day and time.

"I'll call Ridge later and see if he's available then," Jason said.

"Does he have a good track record in finding people?" Gayle asked, her eyes pleading with him to say yes.

"He's been in the business for close to twenty years," Jason said.

"That's good," Shawn said. "You don't stay in business that long if you have a bad track record."

"That is true," Eloise said.

Shawn glanced at his watch. "I better go. I have a meeting in forty minutes." He looked at Jason. "You heading out?"

"Not yet," Gayle said. "We would like for him to stay a bit longer and visit with us, if he doesn't have to rush off to work."

"I can stay," Jason said. "I don't have any meetings until this afternoon."

"Then I'll catch you later, man." After saying goodbye to the family, Shawn took his leave.

"I should go." Daisy started to stand.

"Not so fast, young lady," Gayle said coolly. "We want to talk to you too."

Jason exchanged a troubled glance with his wife. Why did he get a sinking feeling that something was about to happen?
