Jason Cooper was on his way to the hotel bar when he heard a familiar laugh. He came to a halt and scanned the lobby. When he spotted Daisy, his best friend's sister, talking on her phone he made his way toward her.
As he drew near, Daisy glanced his way and broke into a smile. That smile always did something to him. She did something to him. With her shoulder length curly blonde hair, heart- shaped face, and sparkling blue eyes, she was beautiful. He knew she was beautiful inside as well.
"Jason," Daisy said, ending the call. "What are you doing in Vegas?"
"I'm here on business." He leaned in, kissing her cheek. "What about you?"
"I'm visiting my aunt."
"Do you have time to join me for a drink?" Jason inquired.
Daisy smiled. "Long day?"
"You have no idea," Jason sighed.
"Of course I'll join you for a drink."
Jason and Daisy moved to the hotel bar, taking a seat at a corner table. No sooner had they sat down and a server arrived to take their drink order.
"So you're here to visit an aunt," Jason said, once the server was gone. "I didn't know you had family here in Las Vegas."
"Aunt Peggy," Daisy said.
Jason frowned. "Shawn never mentioned an Aunt Peggy."
"Brother dear doesn't care for her," Daisy said. "That could be because she likes me more than him."
His gray eyes shining with amusement, Jason leaned in and said, "Don't tell your brother, but I like you better than him."
Daisy winked at him. "It will be our secret."
The server showed up with their drinks. She placed them in front of Jason and Daisy and then left to wait on another table.
"So how long are you going to be here?" Jason inquired, picking up his glass.
"Until tomorrow afternoon." Daisy took a sip of her drink. "I've been in Vegas all week."
"I've been here since Wednesday evening." Jason cleared his throat. "Like you, I'm flying home tomorrow. Why don't you cancel your flight and fly back with me. I rented a private plane."
"I'd like that," Daisy said.
"Good," Jason said. "We can ride to the airport together."
"Sounds good to me."
At that moment, Jason's cell phone rang. He put down his drink, grabbed his phone from the clip on his belt and checked the caller ID. "It's your brother."
"Tell him I said hi," Daisy said.
Jason accepted the call. "Hey, man. Your sister says hi."
"You're hanging out with my sister," Shawn said, sounding disgusted. "You're in Vegas, Sin City, and instead of hitting the casinos or hooking up with a hot woman, you're hanging out with Daisy. What the hell is wrong with you, man?"
Jason chuckled. "I'm unwinding after a long day of business meetings by having a drink with Daisy. There is nothing wrong with me. What's up?"
"Nothing much," Shawn replied. "You still coming by on Sunday to watch the game?"
"Of course."
"Bring the chips and salsa, will you?"
"Sure."
"I've got someone at the door, so I'll talk to you later," Jason said. "And say hi to Daisy for me."
"Will do." Jason ended the call. "Your brother says hi."
