"Okay, crazy woman," drama queen said as we exited the barn, "I have thought about it while we got dressed and you have two choices."

"About?" I asked, without looking at him as I put the lock on the barn door again.

"Since we want to get home as fast as possible, we can't afford to argue at each turn. So, either I put you on mute again or we call it a truce until we reach home. I prefer the latter but, what's your take?" he gave me a teasing smirk.

I clenched my teeth and narrowed my eyes at him, "That was supposed to be a Favour Note, not a remote control."

He gave me a cheeky smile, "But, this is so much more fun, isn't it? I shouldn't have put a time limit on it. Then, I could have done this for life. "

"Yes, only your life would have been cut short to two days," I grunted, turning around.

He chuckled and asked raising his pinky finger, "So, truce?"

"Truce," I said and linked my pinky finger with his.

"Alright, now that we have that cleared, we must see if we can cross this lake and get to the road. Once we are there, we can see if we can find a ride to the nearest airport or anywhere from where we can contact someone at home," he told me, pointing to the various directions.

"But, why do you want to cross the lake? We can go this way too," I told him pointing in the other direction.

"That's a mountain. It looks steep and rocky. Also, hiking in the snow won't be easy," he told me.

"But, we'll reach faster and if we go by the lake, we'll get wet again," I pointed out.

"How are you so sure we'll find something on the other side of the mountain?" he asked.

"How are you so sure that your plan last night would have fallen through by now and the gunmen wouldn't be waiting on the other side of the lake?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Ophy would have done it by now," he frowned.

"Do you have any confirmation?" I pressed.

He clicked his tongue giving up, "Phone's dead."

"I know," I nodded.

"The car would have been so much easier," he shook his head and grabbed the bag.

"I'll take it," I told him, holding the bag.

"It's fine. Take it later if it gets too much for me," he waved me off and we started walking towards the mountain.

The trail to the mountain was straight and just a couple of miles.

The main problem was going to start once the hike up the mountain started.

"So, other than running, how was it to stay with mafia men?" he asked me as we reached the end of the trail and near the mountain.

The road was rocky as fuck and little streams were formed due to the snow melting, making it slippery.

I felt a little pain in my knee, but I ignored it and said, "Awful, of course. I was captured for one day but, I couldn't wait to get out."

"Did they hit you or torture you?" he asked.

"They did threaten me, of course. Put a gun to my head, but never really shot me before I ran. I don't know how mafias work but, I guess they were just trying to scare me away until they found out about the money," I told him, as we walked up the steep path jumping from one rock to another.
