Yuva's POV
Engulfed past collided with me staunchly, destiny's cruel dance of fate once again made me stood infront of a familiar face.
On the same date with the difference of years we both stood like a storm infront of each other.
We both completely shocked as if we just seen a ghost. "You look lost" A man with a plump physique with eyes like an owl that sat across me exclaimed.
I nervously shook my head in denial. My nervous gaze met his sharp gaze then travelled to his sharp features.
His round and doe eyes with long lashes blinked nervously. He had changed completely. He wasn't giving the soft boy vibe anymore. His lips curved into an awkward smile as if saying, "it was shocking to him too".
"Mr. Richard. Can you please excuse us" His voice came out completely professional ,turning his mate to look at him confusingly. His confused reaction was obvious as they both initially approached me for a survey about their restaurant.
Mr. Richard looked rebelliously first but then eventually followed his words.
"That 'PA' stands for 'Prisha Agrawal' ?" He said on perceiving the chain around my neck. I had been wearing it since then. Mention of her name made my chin twitch vulnerably.
"Yeah" My voice came out heavy. Correcting him at this point didn't feel right.
That 'PA' stood for 'Prerit Ahlawat', those words felt really difficult to say as if they were stucked into my throat.
His lips curved into a smile upon hearing my words, "You indeed loved her" He whispered.
"Not as much as you did" I whispered back. The air around us felt so heavy and suffocating. His eyes suddenly lowered preventing his emotions to show.
"You have changed, Kevit" Words left my mouth as a low whisper, my tongue felt this name after a very long time. His memories inside my brain were fading subconsciously until now. His turmoil filled gaze met mine before saying, "Needed, it was". His eyes portrayed that 'changing' was never his choice but time's demand.
"You seem quite different too" He acknowledged looking at me, I shook my head in agreement with a miserable smile.
For the very first time it felt like we both were on the same page, overcoming the same incident.
"Have you moved on?" I asked with the deepest melancholy inside my heart. My throat was paining with the resistance of the words that I controlled inside.
"From the person or from the incident?"Such an irony it was. Some years back exactly on this date that horrifying incident took place where my best friend's brain lived for the last seven minutes replaying her best memories. A lot of replyed memory would have been of his.
Her boyfriend, Kevit Singhania.
His words barely made their way to my ear as it was being hard for him to talk about his dead girlfriend. But he wanted to talk , it was visible.
Maybe it was the last thing that was keeping the tie between them and he wanted to keep it, even if it was hurting him deeply inside.
"Any of them" I cleared, my nails drawing over my black office pants.
"Neither of them" His answer came out real quick , his voice little hoarse.
I digged my nails into my thigh, feeling like a terrible person to witness this. He didn't deserve to go through all this."She used to plan about our future not knowing that it never existed" His jaw clenched with the amount of emotions he was trying to hide.
"Sometimes I do think about that night, imagining that if I would have prayed to God a little longer she might have been with me, here" His love for her made him think about non existing things too. It was destiny written, a prayer wouldn't have made any difference yet his words had hopes.
