Chapter 27

In the assembly-

"The reason we're having this school assembly. Is because we lost two students this past week, the class of ## may have not seen Emily and Rebecca for these days." The principal spoke clearly. The school went into silence.. then people started whispering.

"I cant believe that happened?"

"Who would want to do that.."

"The memorial will be next week on Saturday. If you would like to attend please do, many people have lost their friend, and their parents lost their lovely daughters." The principal continued, wiping a tear with a tissue.

Emily and becca were always teachers favourites, they were fun and actually finished their work on time..you're not surprised that the principal is crying. But. It looked fake..

You should be crying.. why aren't you? They were your best friends? Why aren't you crying? Cry.

A tear was threatening to leave your eye, but you quickly wiped it away not daring to let it fall. Your mind was blank the rest of the assembly.. the truth is..you were happier with Emily and becca..weren't you?

"Y/n?" Taylor's voice was heard, she said it in a whisper. You dont know why shes whispering the assembly's over. "Y/n? Are you okay?"

You looked up from the floor and over at her, she had a concerned look on her face. "..im fine." You said back and left the group.

You know, you wont get closer to people mentally if you don't give them the chance, they're worried about you. It's hard to stop someone from worrying without making them worry even more..

Suck it up. Suck it up y/n. The news will get out sooner rather then later. It will be easier for you to tell them before they know themselves.

The janitors closet. Is the person still there? Did ashlyn hear them?

You went over to the janitors closet, you opened the door to see nothing.

Maybe they moved while everyone was at the assembly? Or im just going crazy.

"Y/n?" A voice came from the left of you, you just sighed in annoyance knowing who the voice belonged to. Emilys annoying ass cousin. Barron.

"What do you want." You said not hiding your annoyed tone and he just rolled his eyes at you then continued.

"I dont want to talk to you either. Just tell the nerd to hurry up with my homework the deadline is tomorrow." Barron says crossing his arms.

This man is way too bold to say that.

"What? So you got him to do your midterms? Weak." You stated and left.

Guess im skipping classes today..should i say im going home? You thought to yourself as you pulled at your phone, there were tons of worried messages from everyone, mainly Taylor and Logan.

You feel bad, dont you? You blocked them out. You're not letting them help even though you know they can.

You started to text the group chat just to warn them that you are going home.

Savannah group

Good twin:

Sure! Hope ur okay!

Nerd:

See u at ashlyns!

You turned off your phone and headed to the front of the school, once you got out of the school you headed over to your motorcycle and hopped onto it. Once you had gotten to your house you changed out of your school stuff and into running clothes.

Does running help with relaxing? It does for you, but..where are you running to? Are you running away? If so from what?

Ashlyns house-

"I'm pretty sure i failed that midterm" you heard Taylor say as you entered the house, you went into the living room to see everyone faces looking devastated at there midterms while aiden and Logan looked fine.

"Im pretty sure i did fine." You shrugged and sat down on a sofa chair. "Apart from on math because math is my worst fucking enemy. Like the only person i think will use math is Logan because he likes space and can become like a rocket scientist or somethin." They all were surprised when they heard your voice while Logan just looked confused.

Did i say too much? You thought as you looked at all their surprised faces

Suddenly aiden started talking like normal. "Oh yeah, my parents are coming back tomorrow." Aiden said switching the conversation. "Really?" Taylor questions.

"Yeh, along with bens family, it'll be his little sisters birthday in a week, i think" aiden answers. "Oh, they're comin back? They never told me." Mike says and you glance over to him, "you talk to them?" Ashlyn asks with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, a bit just to give them updates about ben and aiden." Mike answers as he puts a laundry basket down onto a table. "Hmmm...should we have a bbq?"

"..what?" Ashlyn questions. "It'll be a rare chance for us parents to get together like this, yknow? We should have a bbq in the graveyard and also celebrate bens sister birthday, if they dont already have plans" mike explains.

"Sure! We can ask!" Aiden exclaims clearly hoping that they can have a bbq. "What about you, Taylor and Tyler, Logan, y/n?" Mike asks.

"I'm sure my grandparents would like to come, they're big bbq fans themselves" -Logan

"We'll ask." -Tyler

"I can ask miss lena i guess." -you

"Great!"-mike

"Oh! You kids should probably leave soon, it's almost 5." Mike tells you.

What's happening at 5? You ask yourself, it seemed everyone else knew.

"Ah right.." ashlyn says looking down at the ground everyone had started getting their stuff ready, you put your phone in your pocket an waited. "You sure you dont want me to take you?" Mike asked.

"It's not too far a walk..plus the jeep doesn't have enough seats for everyone." Ashlyn mentioned.

"..well actually.. i made a small upgrade to the jeep." Mike says proudly, smiling like he's a mechanic.

In the jeep-

"This is not ideal." Tyler commented with an irritated look on his face. "But atleast it works haha" mike says answering Tyler's comment. "Yeah but you have children in the jeep though." You said and mike just laughed a bit at your comment and drove off.
