Tarous POV

I couldn't believe Quackity was suggesting we split up. I knew he was trying to protect me, but the thought of being apart from him, even for a moment, was unbearable. "WHAT! I won't leave you alone Quackity," I blurted out, my heart racing with anxiety.

But Quackity's determined expression told me he'd already made up his mind. I could see the fear in his eyes, the fear of us getting caught, of us being hurt. And I knew I had to trust him.

With a heavy heart, I nodded reluctantly. We shared a fleeting glance, and then we were running in opposite directions. I sprinted into the forest, my feet pounding against the earth, my senses on high alert. The trees seemed to blur around me as I desperately tried to put as much distance between myself and the hunters as possible.

I glanced back, hoping to catch one last glimpse of Quackity, but he was already gone, vanished from sight. The thought of him facing those hunters alone sent a shiver down my spine. I pushed the fear aside and focused on finding a safe hiding spot, praying that Quackity would be okay, that we'd find each other again soon.

I kept running, my heart pounding in my chest, until I was sure I'd left the hunters behind. I ducked behind a thick tree trunk, panting, and listened intently for any signs of pursuit. The forest was quiet, except for the distant sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind.

I peeked around the tree, scanning my surroundings. The forest was dense, with towering trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. I spotted a narrow stream running through the underbrush, its crystal-clear water glistening in the dappled sunlight.

I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. I was alone, separated from Quackity, and I had no idea if he was safe.I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. Quackity had a plan, and I had to trust him. He'd always been the clever one, the one who came up with ideas and strategies. I had to believe that he'd be okay, that he'd find a way to evade the hunters.

But as I sat there, listening to the gentle babble of the stream, I couldn't help but wonder what was happening to Quackity. Was he safe? Was he being chased? And what about the hunters - were they closing in on him?

I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on my own survival. I had to stay hidden and stay quiet until Quackity found me or until the hunters gave up. I settled in, trying to make myself as comfortable as possible, and waited.

Quackity's POV

___________________________________________

The cliffs were always a risky place to be, but I had no choice. I had to lead the hunters away from Tarou, even if it meant putting myself in danger. My legs burned as I pushed myself to run faster, taking sharp turns and weaving around trees to throw off my pursuers.

I couldn't hear them anymore, but I didn't let my guard down. They were probably still on my tail, determined to capture me. But I couldn't afford to think about that right now. I had a job to do.

As I reached the edge of the cliff, I slowed down and glanced back. There was no sign of the hunters, but I knew they were close. I had to be smart about this.

I quickly scanned the area and spotted a small cave hidden behind some rocks. It wasn't much, but it could serve as a temporary hiding spot. I ducked inside just as the hunters appeared at the edge of the cliff, shouting and waving their weapons.

I crouched down in the corner of the cave, trying to make myself as small as possible. I could hear the hunters talking and laughing outside, taunting me. But I stayed still and quiet, waiting for my chance to escape.

After what felt like hours, i couldn't see or hear any hunter. I breathed a sigh of relief and carefully made my way out of the cave, constantly scanning the area for any signs of danger.

Once I was sure the coast was clear, I made my way back towards the forest. I had to find Tarou and make sure she was safe. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving her alone out here.

As I made my way back towards the forest, I thought I'd finally shaken off the hunters. I'd been careful, keeping a low profile and staying alert for any signs of danger.

But as I approached the edge of the forest, I heard a rustling in the bushes behind me. I spun around, my heart racing, as a group of hunters emerged from the underbrush.

"Well, well, well," one of them sneered, a cruel glint in his eye. "Looks like we've got ourselves a little bird."

I tried to run, but they were too quick. They surrounded me, their weapons at the ready. I knew I was in trouble.

"Tarou," I whispered, hoping against hope that she'd hear me. But it was too late. The hunters were already closing in.

One of them grabbed me, holding me in a tight grip. I struggled and kicked, but it was no use. They were too strong.

"You're coming with us, little bird," the hunter sneered as they dragged me away from the forest.

The hunters' laughter and jeers echoed in my ears as they dragged me deeper into the unknown. I was trapped, and I had no idea what lay ahead.

I struggled and kicked, using every last bit of strength to break free from the hunters' grasp. Finally, I managed to wriggle out of their hold, my heart racing with excitement.

I took off in a sprint, not looking back, not daring to think about what the hunters might do if they caught up to me again. I just wanted to get away, to find Tarou and get out of this place.

But in my panic, I forgot to watch where I was going. I didn't notice the cliff looming ahead, its edge hidden by the trees.

And then, suddenly, I was falling. My stomach lurched as I felt the ground giving way beneath me. I tried to flail my arms, to grab onto something, anything, but it was too late.

I was plummeting towards the ocean below, my heart in my throat, my mind screaming with fear.

This was it. This was the end.

The rush of the water enveloped me as I hit the surface, my wings flailing wildly as I struggled to stay afloat. But it was no use. My wings were made for flying, not swimming, and I was sinking deeper into the water.

I tried to paddle with my wings, but they only seemed to weigh me down further. I was drowning, my lungs burning as I struggled to hold my breath.

The water was cold and dark, and I couldn't see a thing. I was completely disoriented, my wings thrashing about as I tried to find a way up.

But it was no use. I was sinking, slowly but surely, into the depths of the water. My vision was starting to blur, and I knew I didn't have much time left.

I thought of Tarou, of our adventures together, of the laughter and the fun we had shared. I thought of my parents that i lost, of my home, of everything I would never see again.

And with that thought, I felt myself slipping away, my consciousness fading into the darkness of the water.
