Hannah has been in jail for two weeks now and she was not having fun. Hannah had washed out the red in her hair. She walked into the ‘fun’ room to hear the KVTL 3 News was on TV talking about Moon and her peace rally to settle down. Hannah sat at a table and proceeded to watch.

“Police and the DA have made a trial date arranged for Hannah Keene, who kicked fellow student Miguel Diaz off a second story balcony, landing right here in this staircase. The DA says she will be facing many charges, such as battery assault and battery assault causing bodily harm.” Hannah looked down at the ground. She was innocent. She didn't do any of it. “Keene has since been expelled. Diaz, meanwhile, remains in a coma at West Valley General. Doctors say his prognosis-”

A girl changed the TV channel to the TV show Big Brother.

“Hey!” Hannah said. “I was watching that.”

“Why, cause you made the news?” The girl asked. “You know you're lucky you didn't get the death penalty for what you did.”

“I didn't do it.”

“Really? Cause that's your face on the news. You killed that kid.”

“No.” Hannah said, as her heart dropped near her stomach. “I-I didn't kill him.”

“Well for a kid who has been in a coma for two weeks, his parents are lucky if he makes it out alive.” The girl said as she walked off.

Hannah took a deep breath. “Miguel will pull through,” she said to herself, “he has to.” Hannah got flashbacks of what happened at the school fight. She didn't want to relive it.

“Keene!” A cop said as he walked in. “Your lawyer is here to see you.”

Hannah got placed in cuffs and took to a room where her lawyer was sitting. The cops put her on the opposite side of the table and handcuffed her to it. He stood there on the side and monitored her. “Miss Keene, how are you doing?”

“I'm locked up for no reason. How do you think I'm doing?” Hannah asked, sarcastically.

“Anger.” Her lawyer said. “That's a stage of grief. Now, why don't you tell me what happened during the school fight?”

Hannah sighed. “There was this guy that attacked me. His name is Logan Beal. He punched me and kicked me to the point I lost my balance and had tunnel vision. He kicked me into the lockers and right into the trophy case, breaking glass everywhere.” She paused. “When he got off of me he roared and that's when I saw Robby and Miguel fighting and I ran after them. Pushed Miguel into the wall and told him that Robby wasn't worth fighting. So he apologized and that's when Robby went after Miguel. So I tried to pull Robby off of him and that's when Robby shoved me into the wall and kicked him over the railing.” Hannah told the girl. “I am innocent.”

“So you're saying Robby kicked Miguel?”

“Yeah, I am.”

“Hannah, until we find video evidence. You're stuck here and you could lose this.” Her lawyer said.

“So what would happen if I got let go, and the cops went looking for Robby?”

“If you are found not guilty, and the cops find Robby while he's on the run, they'll throw the book at him.” The lawyer told her. “Especially since he's a high school dropout with a juvenile record. However, if he turned himself in, his trial would go very smoother.”

“I just want out of this situation.” Hannah said.

“So tell me about why your brother would do this kind of stuff? Like tell me about your home lives and everything.”
