It has been two days since Robby and Hannah's fight and Hannah hasn't came home at all. Robby walked into the house with a bag from Vons. Shannon sighed and walked into the living room. Robby set the bag on the counter.
"Hey, Mom." He greeted her.
"Hey, Babe." Shannon said, walking to the sink. "How long is Hannah staying at her friend's?"
"I don't know." Robby said. "But I went to Vons and got those frozen pizzas you like. You wanna make dinner and watch a movie?"
"Oh, that's so sweet, honey. Um, I actually have to run a couple of errands, but, uh, how about we do that tomorrow night, okay?"
"Yeah, sure." Robby said, not believing what his mom just said. He knew she was going out to the bar again. "If you're not too hungover."
"Hey." Shannon said. "Okay, you caught me. I am going out, but you know what? It is Dine LA week, so you know...ok." Shannon turned to the mirror and began to fix her hair.
"You meeting that guy from the other night?" Robby asked.
"Oh God, that nerd? No, he was all bark and no stick." Robby gave a disgusting look when his mom said that to him. "Sorry. I know, that's, like super gross. But listen, you don't realize how hard it is to meet a good man. I mean, just look at your father. That's what we're working with here." Shannon began to apply lipstick to her lips. "Oh, did I mention that that deadbeat came by to see me?"
"No." Robby said. "What'd he say?"
"Just some BS about you and Hannah moving in with him, as if he suddenly gives a shit. I'm sure it's just a scam to get out of paying for child support."
Robby seemed as if it wasn't a scam to pay for child support. He began to think about him and Hannah's argument about their dad actually trying to be there for them. Maybe Hannah was right. "Well, I mean, how do you know that?"
"Trust me. I know your father." Shannon said. She grabbed her perse that was laying on the counter behind Robby. "Listen, I know that you're super bummed out about tonight, but um, you know, I'm trying to meet that special someone. You're only getting older and bigger, and sooner or later, you and Hannah are gonna leave me for a life filled with excitement. You don't wanna leave your mama alone, do you?" Shannon placed her hand on Robby's chin.
Robby shook his head. "No."
"Thank you, baby." Shannon said. "I love you." She kissed Robby's forehead. She began to walk out. "Text Hannah, and make sure she's okay. Bye!" She said, as she walked out.
"Love you too." Robby said softly.
_________________________________________Hannah was walking back to the house when she saw her mom get into some guy's car. She didn't really think anything of it. It really was nothing new. Hannah walked up to the door and opened it. She saw Robby in the kitchen, leaning against the counter.
"Hey." She greeted him.
"Hey." He said.
"I see if Mom's going out again."
"Yeah. Where were you the past two nights?" Robby asked her, worried. "I told Mom you were at a friend's house."
Hannah sighed. "I just walked around town. Went to Reseda. I just needed to clear my mind after our little fight." Hannah didn't wanna mention going to see their dad. She knew that Robby would have a massive temper tantrum.
"Yeah." Robby said. "Hannah, listen, I'm really sorry about that. Really. I didn't mean to hurt you."
"It's okay. I forgive you."
