That morning the students had a class at Cobra Kai. Kreese was talking to the rest of the students. He had them standing around the f "Never underestimate your enemy. Even if you think they're weaker than you, you always have to stay one step ahead of them. That's the only way to guarantee a victory. Is that understood?"
"Yes, Sensei!" The students yelled back in unison.
"Good." Kreese said. The bell shops rang as Hannah walked in with her white gi on. "Miss Keene, glad you could join us today. Fall in."
Hannah took her shoes off and bowed to the mat. She fell in and stood beside Red, directly across from Hawk as Kreese continued the lesson.
"Now, let's see if you truly understand the lesson." Kreese said as he walked in the middle and pointed at the log with the plant on it. "I want you to kick this tree off the top. Red, you start."
Red walked up on the mat and went to do a high kick. He tore his pants in the process. "Pathetic." Kreese said, "Rickenberger, show him." Rickenberger got a running head start and jumped as high as he could to get the plant down. Rickenberger lost his balance and slammed down on the mat. He groaned as he got up and walked back to his spot on the mat. "Stop you sniveling." He looked over at Hannah. "Keene!"
Hannah stepped on the mat and looked at the plant and then the log. She got into her fighting stance.
"I can do it, Sensei." Hawk said, looking at Kreese, stopping Hannah.
"Well, what're you waiting for?" Kreese asked him.
Hawk stepped on the mat and looked at Hannah. "You might wanna step aside." He said, taunting her. Hannah looked at Hawk like she was mad.
"Don't you want a running start?" Kreese asked him.
"Don't need one." Hawk said. He kicked down the log and the plant fell onto the mat shattering. Hannah looked over at Hawk as Kreese chuckled.
"Not bad." Kreese said. "Not bad at all."
"But he cheated." Rickenberger said.
"No, he didn't. Unlike you, he did exactly what I asked him to do." Kreese told Rickenberger. "If your mind is agile, so are you. That's the best way to beat your enemy. Not just with brute strength. But you have to fight smart." He walked up to Hawk. "Do that, and you'll always come out on top."
_________________________________________Johnny knew he had to make it up to Robby. He went over to the homeless shelter and saw Robby making bowls of soup for people. He got in line and waited his turn. When he finally got up there he looked at his son.
"Hey Robby." He greeted.
"You're not supposed to be here." Robby told him.
"It's the only way I could see you. Found out you're doing community service to try to get out early. That's good. I respect that." Johnny looked at his son and saw a mark on his face. "Is that a black eye? Are you fighting in there after everything that's happened?"
"You're seriously gonna lecture me about starting fights?" Robby asked.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I just wanna say I screwed up and I know-"
"Save it."
"I'm just trying to say-"
"What?" Robby asked. "That you're in my corner? That you got my back? 'Cause let's be honest, that means jack shit. Mr LaRusso said the same thing, and look where I am now."
"Forget about LaRusso." Johnny told him.
"Hey!" A woman yelled. "Quit holdin' up the line! Don't make me throw a shoe at you!" Johnny recognized the woman. She used to hang around the Cobra Kai dojo all the time. "Look at what we got here. You stalkin' me, pretty boy?"
