I'm MAD. mad about how people 'support' aroace people, but then when there are canon aspec characters, they just BLATANTLY. DISREGARD. Their sexuality
And I know I say this A LOT. but I can't shut up about it
It grinds my gears. SO MUCH.
Because like, let's take Alastor for example here.
I know nothing about him, haven't watched hazbin, I might, unsure :P
But one thing I know about him?
He's canonically aroace
Lots of people know he's ace (and still ignore that but I'll get to that in a bit) even though he's been confirmed aro aswell?
From like clips I've seen he has NO INTEREST in romance, yet people ship him the most I guess? Hold on lemme just Google something really quick

I Don't know a lot of those characters
But that's A LOT.
A lot for any character, cus like from my experience in shipping and fandoms, there's like...no more than 3 characters that people ship with one character, or else it's a rare-pair, that's 8. And an x reader but let's ignore that for now.
For an aroace character? That's too much. There are LOTS of other characters out there for you to ship, but the second one of them is aroace, you ignore their sexuality. If you saw someone shipping a canon lesbian character with a guy you'd be so quick to jump like- "but their sexuality!-" but you don't do the same for aroace characters? Like it's also their sexuality.
And it's not based off of 'vibes' or what YOU feel about that character, if it's canon. It's canon. You can't change it.
Like for example: amity blight from the owl house,
Lots of people were like 'she can't be lesbian because she doesn't look/act like one!'
It's not vibes if it's LITERALLY their sexuality.
And like- it's totally fine if you didn't know. But people go so far? Like so many arguments happen.
Like lots of people fight over this.
I don't get why allo people get so mad when an aspec person tells them NOT to ship aroace characters Because it downplays the characters sexuality.
Like you can't talk, you aren't aspec, you haven't experienced being aspec.
OH AND THOSE SAME PEOPLE GET SO MAD. WHEN PEOPLE DOWNPLAY OTHER CHARACTERS SEXUALITY?? (Like gay or lesbian characters) WHICH IS GOOD OBVIOUSLY. BUT WHAT. ABOUT. THE AROACE CHARACTERS.

lesbians = no ship with a man. So when lesbians get shipped with a man. You say something. Because it's weird right? To downplay their sexuality?
Gay = no ship with a woman. So when gay men get shipped with a woman. You say something. Because it's weird right? To downplay their sexuality?
Aroace = no ship with ANYONE. Oh but now it's different. Because they would be lonely? But these two characters would be so cute together!!
That's not how it works. You have to respect our sexuality just as much as you respect others.
