In a world of boys, he's a gentleman
Ishita was engrossed in finalizing the designs for Dhruv's house when Neha popped her head into her office. She looked excited and a bit nervous, which was unusual for her normally composed colleague.
"Ishita, do you have a minute?" Neha asked, stepping inside.
"Sure, what's up?" Ishita replied, glancing up from her sketches.
Neha hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Dekh, I know this is a bit of an odd request, but... since you're working with Dhruv Jurel, could you maybe... get me an autograph from him?"
Ishita raised an eyebrow, surprised. "You're a fan of his?"
Neha nodded eagerly. "I've been following his career! He's an incredible cricketer, and, well, I might have a bit of a celebrity crush on him too. I've always admired him."
Ishita chuckled. "You've been working with me for a while now, and you never mentioned this."
Neha blushed slightly. "I didn't want to mix my personal interests with work. But since you're directly working with him, I thought... maybe you could ask him for an autograph?"
Ishita considered it for a moment. She wanted to maintain a professional relationship with Dhruv, but she also didn't want to disappoint Neha, who had been a supportive and dedicated colleague. She could sense how much this meant to her.
"You know, I'll do my best," Ishita said, still a bit hesitant. "But I can't guarantee anything. Dhruv's schedule is usually packed, and I don't want to intrude on his time."
Neha's face lit up with gratitude. "Thank you so much, Ishita! I promise I'll make it up to you. I'll handle any extra tasks or work you need. Just let me know!"
"Alright, alright," Ishita said with a laugh. "I'll see what I can do. But remember, this isn't a guarantee."
Neha nodded enthusiastically. "I understand. Thank you!"
The next day, Dhruv had a busy schedule filled with practice and meetings. As he was taking a short break, he received a call from Ishita.
"Hi Dhruv, it's Ishita," she said cheerfully. "I hope I'm not interrupting."
"No, not at all," Dhruv replied. "What's up?"
"I wanted to touch base about our next meeting," Ishita began. "And also, there's a small favor I'd like to ask. One of my colleagues, Neha, is a huge fan of yours. She's been asking if I could get an autograph for her. I know it's a bit unusual, but..."
Dhruv chuckled. "I see. Well, I'd be happy to do that. Just let me know how and when."
Ishita sighed with relief. "Thank you, Dhruv. I appreciate it. I'll make sure to pass it along to her. I didn't want to seem too forward, but she's been really supportive, and it would mean a lot to her."
"No problem at all," Dhruv said warmly. "I'll make sure to sign something for her. Just let me know when you need it."
Later that day, Ishita was working on finalizing the design revisions when she received a message from Dhruv. He had sent a signed photograph for Neha. She could tell he had taken the time to write a personalized note, which was thoughtful and generous of him.
She took the photograph and walked over to Neha's desk. Neha looked up, her eyes widening as she saw the signed photo.
"Oh my God, Ishita!" Neha exclaimed. "Bhai, Mai mar war na jau. He really did it?"
Ishita smiled, handing her the photo. "Yes, he did. He even wrote a personalized message for you."
Neha took the photo with trembling hands, her excitement palpable. "This is amazing! Thank you so much for making this happen!"
"I'm glad you're happy," Ishita said, her tone friendly. "That guy was more than willing to do it. Just remember, it's all thanks to your support."
Neha beamed, clutching the photo tightly. "I'll never forget this, cutieee. I owe you big time!"
As Ishita returned to her work, she felt a sense of satisfaction. She had managed to balance professionalism with a small favor, and she was happy to have made Neha's day. She knew that this small gesture of kindness was a reminder of the positive impact she could have on the people around her, even amidst the busy and challenging nature of her work.
