The streets of the desolated city were quiet, except for the sound of the trio's footsteps echoing through its decayed streets. As they kept walking, they kept their guard up for any raptures that might attack them on their path.
Tho, Faust seemed much more chill about it than the other two.
Faust: "You know what? I had my doubts at first, but this place definitely isn't Night City."
Alexander: "Night City?"
The commander repeated the name with confusion.
Faust: "Yep, the city which was voted as the worst place to live in North America in the year 2077. That's where I come from."
Marian: "I never heard about this city."
Alexander: "Me neither."
Faust "Hum... hey, does the name Arasaka or Militech ring a bell for either of you two?"
Marian: "No, it doesn't."
Alexander: "Never heard about them. But by the name, I assume that they are some type of weapon manufacturing companies, right?"
Faust: "A bit more than just weapons, but you're right. Well, damn, that means I really am in another world."
Alexander/Marian: "Huh?"
The two looked at Faust like he was completely insane, which he kinda was.
Alexander: "You're really telling us... you're from another world?"
Faust: "Yep. Funny story, after some Maelstrom members, a gang from Night City, stole some weird 'Saka crate, which was already stolen by another gang after the company's ship almost sank because of some metalhead, I decided to teach them a "little lesson" and took the crate home. When I opened the crate, it had some weird ass cylinder thing which my scans couldn't tell what was made off, suddenly that scrap started glowing, exploded and now I'm here."
He finished his story, looking at the two again. If they were already asking themselves if the young man had a loose screw, now they were sure that were much more than just some.
Marian: "I-I see..."
Alexander: "Alright... either that or you are a mummy that didn't decompose, considering 2077 was almost two centuries ago. That would also explain why you speak with some weird slangs."
Faust: "Aight, if you say so choom. I'm kinda surprised you two took it so easily."
Alexander: "Well, mainly because you said that in the most casual way ever."
Marian: "Argh... my leg..."
Both Faust and Alexander stopped on their tracks, turning their heads towards Marian.
Faust: "You good, choom?"
Alexander: "Are you hurt?"
Marian: "I suppose you could say that. Hurt, or rather... malfunctioning? Either way, my mobility hasn't been affected."
Alexander: "Hold still."
Before she could keep walking, Alexander couched down to her leg, making the Nikke look down at him with curiosity. From his pocket, he pulled out a bandage which he began to wrap her damaged leg with.
Marian: "Um... Commander... This isn't of much use to a Nikke... Nonetheless, I... appreciate the gesture. Thank you, commander."
Alexander: "No problem, I wouldn't feel comfortable with you having an open wound in the battlefield."
