Chapter 4: Making more friends

BAAM!!

Faust: "There, problem solved. I feel like I should have brought another gun."

After killing the last Rapture, Faust walked back to the rest of the group. While Alexander and Marian were already accustomed with that, the other two girls were a bit weirded out by him.

They were grateful for the help he gave them, but this is the first time they ever saw someone like Faust. As far as the two knew only Nikkes were able to fight Raptures, and the young man didn't seemed like one for them.

Faust: "So, how are you two holding up?"

He asked the two girls, trying to break the silent between them.

GL girl: "We are fine, thanks for the help against those Raptures."

As the girl with the grenade launcher spoke to him, he could feel the robotic eyes of the one with the assault rifle looking at him, probably scanning the young man.

AR girl: "You don't seem to be a Nikke, at least not one from the Ark. Who are you?"

Her tone of voice was more monotone than her friend, which kinda reminded the young man of an AI assistant voice.

Faust: "I'm just a really chromed up choom, nothing much more than that. Name's Faust, nice to meet you two. Those two are Marian and Alexander."

Marian: "I'm from the Silver Gun squad of Elysion, nice to meet you two."

Alexander: "Greetings, I'm Marian's commander. We are the ones from the ship that crashed a bit far away from here."

GL girl: "Are you serious? How did you survive that explosion? I get Marian is a Nikke, and Faust is "chromed up", whatever that means, but aren't you a human?"

Alexander: "Yes, I am, in fact, a human. I almost died due to a heart attack and went unconscious, until that one woke me up by slapping me across the face."

The commander said, pointing at Faust. The latter had the expression of someone who didn't have any regrets about what they did.

Faust: "Hey, say what you want, it worked, didn't it?"

GL girl: "... Something smells fishy. Are you really the commander?"

Alexander: "Yes, I am."

AR girl: "Excuse me for a moment. commander identification code, read."

She went silent for some seconds, before she spoke up again.

AR girl: "The Squad 04-F commander has changed."

GL girl: "Rapi, we don't even know them! How could you..."

The girl wielding the assault rifle, now known as Rapi, interrupted her partner before she could finish.

Rapi: "Now it's not the time to argue. We have a mission to accomplish, and it would be better to keep going before more Raptures end up appearing on our way."

GL girl: "Well... that is pretty much true."

Rapi turned towards Alexander.

Rapi: "From now on, you're in command. As the former commander is unable to issue orders at present, no formal procedures are necessary to transfer authority."

GL girl: "... Sigh Very well then. All right, commander. What's the next move?

Rapi: "Awaiting your command."

Alexander: "For now, let's keep moving. We should keep going with the mission as soon as possible."

Rapi: "Very well. We're Rapi and Anis. Thank you for the assistance, especially you."
