Emily's POV
Blinding sunlight pulls me out of my huddled position on the couch. I rub my eyes and stretch, but yelp out in pain feeling my body ache. My right shoulder throbs in pain causing my vision to blur and my head to spin. Soon I'm in a bathroom staring at a huge bruise that nearly swallows my arm. My eyes are puffy and my nose is red.
I wash my face but jump when something shuffles behind the shower curtain. I turn to see Pete naked and not alone. A tan skinny brunette is kissing his neck and he just stares at me. This can't be happening. This is NOT happening.
"Emily?" Pitch black. "Emily?!" I blink only to find Michael shaking me awake. "Michael?" I ask hazily. After he sees I'm awake he sets on the edge of the bed. Wait, who's bed? Michael must notice my look of confusion because he answer my thought.
"Your okay now. You fell asleep earlier after" he pauses. " well after I got my ass kicked." he says scratching the back of his neck. I just sit still and try to look interested, but I can't stay focused. My mind plays back everything that has happened. Dinner, then the grab, and then yelling. I clench my fist when I think of what he's done to me.
"Emily!" Michael snaps calling my attention. I look up from my hands and just stare at him. I loved him. I loved this perfect monster. I guess I'm paying for it now. I decide if I'm getting out, its now. I throw back the covers and step down from the bed. Michael goes to pull me back but I jerk my arm out of reach. I walk to the bathroom and shut the door. I'm not stupid enough to leave so eager. I need a plan.
