"Stop it," she muttered under her breath, blinking away fresh tears. "Don't let him in again. You're stronger than this."
But deep down, she knew the truth- she wasn't just running from Gabriel-she was running from herself. From the fear of getting hurt again. From the terror of letting him close, only to lose him once more.
A sob escaped her lips as the weight of her emotions finally broke through. Tears streamed down her cheeks, uncontrollable, as she sped down the dark highway, leaving the city lights behind. The storm inside her raged on, showing no signs of calming.
In the rearview mirror, she caught a glimpse of her reflection-red eyes, tear-streaked cheeks. The woman staring back at her wasn't the cold, composed CEO she had worked so hard to become.
No, she was still that girl who had once loved him with her whole heart, before everything had fallen apart.
Taking a shaky breath, she slowed the car as exhaustion set in-both physically and emotionally.
Pulling off to the side of the road, her hands trembled as she turned off the engine. Silence enveloped her, broken only by her ragged breathing and the distant hum of passing cars.
Resting her forehead against the steering wheel, she closed her eyes, trying to calm the storm in her mind. "What am I supposed to do now?" The question hung heavy in the air, unanswered.
As the cool night breeze whispered through the open window, she realized that no matter how far she drove or how fast she ran, she couldn't escape the truth. Gabriel was back, and with him came every emotion she had buried for years-stronger than ever.
Wiping her tears with the back of her hand, she sat up, staring blankly at the dark road ahead.
Her chest still ached with confusion, longing, and the remnants of a love that refused to die. Somewhere deep inside, she knew that running wasn't the answer. But facing Gabriel again-facing her own heart-terrified her more than anything.
Caught between the past and an uncertain future, she whispered softly to herself, "I don't know if I'm ready to forgive you, Gabriel... but I don't know if I'm ready to lose you either." Painful Tears rolled down on her cheeks.
Gabriel's heart raced as he revved his bike, the wind tearing through his hair. Focused, he leaned into the ride, scanning the road for her car. I can't let her go like this, he thought, urgency coursing through him.
Within minutes, he spotted her sleek black car, He pushed the throttle, his bike surging forward as he closed the gap between them.
Pulling alongside her, he caught sight of her through the side window. A fierce look mixed with raw emotion etched across her face, but the tension radiating from her twisted his gut with fear.
"Rumi, slow down!" he yelled, though the wind swallowed his words. His hands tightened around the handlebars, worry gnawing at him with each passing second.
She wasn't thinking clearly, and all he could focus on was her safety.
For a brief moment, her teary eyes flicked toward him. Instead of easing up, she pressed harder on the gas, her car roaring ahead. "No, no," he muttered, matching her reckless speed as he fought to keep up.
Then, without warning, she jerked the steering wheel to the right, swerving away from him. The sudden turn sent her car skidding dangerously close to the road's edge. Tires screeched against asphalt, got scratches and for a heartbeat, he feared she might lose control completely. "Ruumiii!" Panic surged through him.
He quickly followed, adjusting his bike with precision as he leaned into the sharp curve to avoid colliding with her. The wind whipped around him as he raced, heart pounding as he watched her narrowly miss the guardrail.
