<Ash POV>
"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"
My annoying alarm clock decided to ring out. I opened my eyes and examined my unfinished room filled with boxes I still needed to unpack. I took a huge sigh and got up for school. "Won't this just be another dandy day" I laughed to my self being sarcastic.
As I got ready I brushed my teeth, put on a pair of black ripped jeans, slipped on a light gray tee shirt, wrapped a dark grey/ black plaid flannel around my waist, and slipped on my converse. For my makeup I put on some mascara and some blush on my milky white skin. As for my hair I brushed it out and left it natural since it was wavy.
I slowly grabbed my binder and phone making sure to take my time considering how fast I had gotten ready.
I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen finding my step father sitting at the table drunk. He glanced over to me and clinched his fists before taking the last sip of his beer.
"Where's my mom" I said while taking a huge sigh.
"Obviously not here" he spat out annoyingly.
"No dip. Dips.hit. Now you can stop being an a.ss about it and answer my question" I said sternly as I crossed my arms.
"Don't f.ucking use that language and attitude towards me" he scoffed as he quickly got up and close to my face trying to be intimidating.
"Okay well if you answered my f.ucking question I wouldn't have to" I sighed and looked him straight in the eye making sure he knew I wasn't afraid.
"Just get your s.hitty self to school" he said while coming closer and clinching his fists again.
"I will once you tell me where my mom is" I replied being stubborn.
"Why does it f.ucking matter?!" He shot back at me agitatedly.
"Hmm I don't know maybeee cause she's my f.ucking mom and with your abusive drunk fat a.ss looking self around here I wouldn't be surprised if she was dead" I answered back calmly before getting pushed back into the wall.
"Leave!" He yelled back with bloodshot eyes.
I shot him a dirty look, grabbed my binder, and walked up to the door. "Gladly" I stated with an emotionless expression on my face before walking out.
<Cody POV>
I was waking up and looked around my room trying to figure out what day it was. "S.HIT!" I yelled as I saw the time on my phone 8:35 am. I quickly shot up out of my bed, brushed my teeth, got on a pair of gray joggers, a black tee shirt, and black nikes.
I ran downstairs passing my mom and grabbing my books.
"Woah woah woah what's the hurry" my mom yelled from the living room.
"If I don't leave now then I'll be late" I yelled back as I gathered my stuff and put it into my binder and before I knew it I was out the door.
I was on my driveway starting to make my way to school when I noticed someone in the corner of my eye. I glanced over to find myself looking at Ash.
<Ash POV>
I was walking down the steps of my house holding my hand to my back from when I was pushed and looked to my side.
"Holyy s.hit" I whispered under my breath seeing Cody.
"Fancy seeing you here" he replied with a smirk.
"Yepp" I said popping the p. "Justtt peachy" I said sarcastically. "Do you live here or something" I questioned, nodding to the house beside him.
"Oh ahh nah I just happened to be walking out of it you know ...with my stuff... At eight- forty...in the morning" he answered sarcastically.
I laughed slightly and rolled my eyes before walking across the street into the woods (with him following me).
"So guess we're neighbors" he smirked, giving me a slight nudge.
I jumped up a bit nervously from him touching me. "G-guess so" I said while looking around the green lush forest.
"Why do you take the long way to school when you could take the short way that's not in the Forest" he asked.
"Why do you care" I asked back kind of regretting I did.
"Well me asking a question doesn't imply that I care" he shot back.
"Well obviously you cared enough to ask" I laughed quietly to myself.
He smirked looking down as we walked. "Touché" he replied.
After a few minutes we finally got to school.
"S.hit" I sighed out and ran my fingers through my hair.
"What" he asked confused.
"I have to deal with Ms.Bummer Sumner and second period Just Ash" I sighed as we walked through the doors of our school.
He laughed and suddenly everyone was staring at us, well mainly the girls.
I just laughed and rolled my eyes looking down as we walked through the hallways with all eyes on us.
"What is it this time?" He questioned confused again.
"Well For starters Everyone's staring at us" I sighed and walked into our class.
He smirked. "God what is it with him and smirking" I thought.
While I was taking a seat in the very back with Cody, considering he's the only person I know here besides my brother Nash, my phone vibrated in my back pocket. I took out my phone and looked at the text I had gotten from Rose aka my mother.

Hey honey when you get home from school in going to need you to get dressed up. We will be attending a block party.
To: Rose
From: Ash
Tf is a block party
From: Rose
Honey you know I don't know teen slang these days.
To: Rose
From: Ash
Omfg just what's a block party

It's a get together of the neighborhood community to meet everyone.
To: Rose

Uhm you're funny.
From: Rose
I don't get what it is you're guffawing about. You're going unless you'd like your phone and other electronics taken away.

Wow. That's bs. Whatever I'm not dressing nice though and seriously mom? Guffawing? Just say laughing omfg.

You will dress nice unless you'd like to be grounded. And I'm sorry for using intelligent words that you're apparently incapable of saying.

You know I try so hard to provide for you and all I-
I slammed down my phone, not finishing the text because I knew she was going to go on.
"What" Cody asked.
"I have to go to some f.ucking block party" I replied while rolling my eyes.
"Sounds fun maybe you'll meet real friends" he smirked at me being sarcastic.
"Yeah right after I read Anna Karennina" I scoffed out.

For those of you who don't know know Anna Karennina it's a book and the reason Ash said that was because Anna Karennina has eight long divided parts of the novel so basically she's saying that that's not going to happen after he says maybe she can meet real friends.

They both laughed at the joke as the bell rang and class was getting started.
