They walked together, hand in hand.
A new Yuga awaited Them.
“Parvati, welcome to the Treta Yuga!”
She looked around, taking in all the beautiful visuals.
As a new millennium had begun, everything was created from space again. Everything was new again.
The pages of the books of history were waiting to be written with new stories.
Of new heroes and new villains.
Citing villains and forgetting to mention the name of Ravana was very unfair.
“Ravana may have been My greatest devotee, but He failed at even something as basic as being humane.”
Shiva said with a sigh, reading Parvati’s mind.
“How can You forget Swami? He was born in the Rakshasa clan. He was not human.” She objected at once.
“Parvati, I don't differentiate between My devotees. Whether they're humans, rakshasas, asuras, kings or paupers. I treat them all as equals.”
He sensed Her perplexed state of mind. She was looking down at the ground beneath.
“This is why Gauri, all prets and ganas were also a part of Our wedding procession.” He said softly, while placing His finger on Her chin to lift Her head.
He slid His fingers in Hers, and said, “Come, let's go back home to Kailash. Our children must be waiting for Us.”
And so, they returned to Their home.
Kailash.
Where the next chapter awaited Them.

“Mother! You're back!”
“Do You know how much I missed You? I was so impatient to taste the laddoos made by You!”
“Oh come on, Ganesha! How long will You rely on Me to take care of You and feed You? You're grown up enough. You should get married so that I also have some female company here at Kailash.”
Ganesha blushed instantly at His Mother's statement.
“Get married?” He asked softly.
Am I really of the eligible age for marriage?
His otherwise calm and intelligent mind was flooded with a thousand questions.
Even the Lord of Intelligence was perplexed at this time.
“Yes, Ganesha! Finally Ganesha is getting married!”
Nandi sprang up from nowhere. He had been keenly eavesdropping on Their conversation.
