Maya Mel Ziegler born 30 September 2002, has been dancing with Abby since she was four years old and her and her twin sister Maddie always fights for number 1 girl.

*PYRAMID* "let's go ladies!" Abby calls for us as we run into studio A
"i would love to say congratulations i would like to be excited about the overall high score win of the group routine it was the highest scoring number of the entire event but i wasn't too excited about my fourth place solo and my third place duet." Abby says
"Abby do you regret bringing Chloe in and took time away from every one of these kids do you regret that or..?" Jill asks
"no actually really enjoyed working with that young lady." Abby says
"on on those kids time though this is the ALDC this is the name in your back not hers." Jill says
"Jill are you telling me how to run my business." Abby asks
"no no she just didn't fit in with this team and more than that she took time away from your kids." Jill says
"you said you wanted a dancer and a dance mom that could hit the group running she never got to the starting block." Holly says
"i think it's a little off when i bring one person in it hasn't worked that's why.. made a little decision i'm not bringing in one dancer to replace one of you, i'm looking to cast an entire new elite junior competition team." Abby says
I clench my jaw
"ladies this is a reality check i will be forming another team to challenge you they'll get to start from scratch just like you guys did"
"I'm auditioning kids from all over the country now i know what i want, Maya and Maddie you might be on the new team."
I make a face to Maddie which she returns
I don't think I can imagine myself before dancing with these girls?
"let's get to the pyramid.. Chloe, fourth not good enough not for the experience that you have already had."
"and next Kendall."
"alright next we have Nia, why do you two think you're here?"
"because we didn't win." Nia says
"and next we have Mackenzie, Mackenzie you were in the group dance did you shine like the top of the chrisyler building? no." Abby says
"next we have Brooke, you were also giving moments to be the star of that group you could've been amazing and we could've came up with more difficult work to do on that chair figure out what you can and cannot do come back and say you know what i can do this do works when your fifteen."
"and next we have Paige, you're pretty high on the pyramid and i kept going back to your look it wasn't about your dancing it wasn't about your technique i thought that the number was good for you maybe that's where you shine."
"and next Maddie, you did well in the group i thought you somewhat carried the piece."
"and on top of the pyramid praise Maya."
i smile and everyone claps
