Silent waters call
Whispers of a heavy heart
Hope's last breath in air
Footsteps on the edge
Echoes of a broken past
Shadows stretch and sway
Sky and river merge
A dance of despair unfolds
Time slows to a halt
Thoughts like falling leaves
Spiraling into the void
Life's weight, hard to bear
In the fleeting breath
A moment's pause, a heartbeat
What if I turned back
Voices in the dark
Threads of love pull at my soul
Fate's hand hesitates
A choice hangs in air
Between the plunge and the light
Hope flickers like stars
But alas, too late
Screams rip through the air
Though loud, fall on deaf ears
The river water splashes
Limbs flail in quick succession
Pain a distant memory; numb
Driven by fear, I paddle
My torso and anything below; useless
Until shore at last
Breath of dawn approaches
Morning's frost wraps around me
I disassociate; realization waking
I failed, but still alive
From despair to brighter days
Each soul bears its weight
In the depths of night
A spark ignites, a new path
Life still calls my name

Villainized
PoetryVillainized is a collection of poems that delves into my personal hell and the struggles I've faced. I am not the hero of my narrative; a minor side-character? Perhaps. The villain? Maybe. The interpretation is yours to decide.
