Part 1

After you step out of the women's bath, the lingering heat from the hot spring causes you to shiver in the cold, mountain air. You then step into the dimly lit hall, the soft glow of the lanterns casting long shadows on the wooden floors. You still feel relaxed, your mind filled with only peaceful thoughts as you head down the hall.

As you turn a corner, you nearly collide with someone. Startled, you look up to see a tall man with a long black mohawk and purple eyes that remind you of someone else. Like you, he's also fresh from the bath, droplets of water still clinging to his skin, his hair damn and slightly matted against the nape of his neck. His muscular body is clad in only a towel, wrapped around his waist and tied off.

You feel your cheeks grow hot, but it might just be a lingering effect from the bath. "Sorry," you mutter, bowing slightly. "I wasn't paying attention."

"It's my fault," he replies as if he's still trying to catch his breath. "I, uh, didn't expect to see you here."

"Huh?" you raise an eyebrow, a small smile playing on your lips. "Do we know each other?"

"No," he shakes his head. "I've just seen you in passing, that's all. My brother's the Wind Hashira."

"Shinazugawa!" you gasp, finally placing where you've seen those eyes. "So that makes you..."

"Genya," he nods. "But, I don't want to be introduced that way. So let's drop the whole 'Hashira' thing, alright?"

"Okay," you nod. "How 'bout we start over?"

Genya watches as you take a step closer. His eyes dart away, but they can't seem to help wandering back to you. There's something about this moment, the intimacy of the dimly lit hall, the way your gaze lingers on him, that sends a thrill through him.

"Genya?" you say softly, tilting your head slightly. "Are you alright?"

His eyes snap to yours, and he frowns, trying to compose himself. "Alright? Yes. Why wouldn't I be alright."

You chuckle softly, the sound echoing slightly in the quiet hall. "You seem tense. Maybe you still need to relax a bit more in the spring." You let your hand brush lightly against him, the touch lingering a moment longer than necessary.

Genya stiffens slightly at the contact, his gaze locking onto yours. There's a fire in his eyes now, a mix of confusion and excitement that he's struggling to suppress. "I...uh," he stammers. "What are you-"

You step even closer, until there's barely any space between the two of you. Your voice drops to a whisper as you look up at him, "What's the matter, Genya?"

"You're too close," he breathes, his pulse racing.

"And yet you're not moving away," you point out, smirking a little. "Do you want to kiss me?"

"Are you always this blunt?" he replies his face lighting on fire.

You laugh, and he finds that the sound is like music to his ears. He wants to hear more of it. "Well, I was told once that a direct approach is best. It doesn't leave room for any miscommunication. So? Do you? You can, if you'd like..."

Genya hesitates for just a moment, his breath coming quicker now. Then, as if something inside him snaps, he closes the distance between you, his lips capturing yours in a fierce, hungry kiss. He pulls you closer, his strong hands gripping your hips as he pushes you back against the wall. His kiss is urgent like at any moment he's worried you'll pull away, his tongue parting your lips.

You melt into his arms, moaning softly as you let him take what he wants and slide your hands up his shoulders, feeling the heat radiating off his skin. The world around you fades away, leaving the two of you alone in this reckless, impulsive moment that feels so right that you can't bring yourself to care.
