CHAPTER 16

"Hello Brother..." the unnatural said with a smile. The air around him was burning almost as if his very aura was incinerating the molecules that were in his proximity

"It's been so so long, I've missed you since our little back and forth in Japan" he continued with an arrogant tone

"Come give me a hug" he invited the man with the scar in with open arms but the man stood frozen where he was, unsure about what he should do. He had no connection to mission control or any other agents. What good would contacting other agents even do, asking for backup would just be an invitation to their deaths.

"Are you just going to stand there?" the unnatural asked trying to imitate a bashful, innocent look which slowly warped back to his arrogant and cunning expression,

"You know it's rude to stare don't you?..." he added, toying with the man

"...or did mother not teach you that?" he continued, almost as if he already knew the answer to his question

"You're right, you're right... the insults toward Mother are a little childish" he confessed

"We should catch up though, talk about what we've been up to after Japan" he proposed

"You know, after your partner thought she could defeat me and I had to-" Before the unnatural could finish his sentence, the man with the scar darted toward him with a flash of blue hellfire

"Infernus Ignis Imperium"

He chanted the words as he darted forward and summoned a perimeter of his Blue Hellfire around them before it grew and enveloped the Omega unnatural. The man with the scar darted out of the storm of Hellfire that he had swarming around the unnatural.

Back at mission control, most of the remaining agents that survived the mission reported back in, including 06 and Agent I.

"What's going on?" 06 asked his fellow senior agent

"I have no idea, I lost visual with him after the hoard went idle" 04 responded

"Look..." Agent I said pointing at the map in shock as everyone looked up at it seeing the indicators that signified the man with the scar and the Omega unnatural darting around, clashing with each other.

"Get me eyes on them!" 06 commanded

"I'm trying! I'm trying" 04 said in protest

As mission control was trying to establish a connection again, one of the drones in the field that had gone offline suddenly sparked back to life. The visual showed the Omega unnatural picking it up as he used it to film the battle between himself and his opponent, almost as if he was putting on a show.

All of the agents present at the institute could see the battle between the strongest Devil at the London Institute, potentially the world, and the unnatural with unprecedented power.

"Why don't we go and help him?!" Agent I exclaimed as she saw her mentor was clearly struggling to keep up with the unnatural's power. He appeared barely holding himself together while continuing his attacks.

"I'd be teleporting agents to their deaths" 04 informed her

"What about the Top 9? Surely if all of them go together then they can help, right?" the agent asked her partner

"That's not possible..." he responded regrettably

"Why not?!" she snapped back at him

"You're the Top 9 Devils that this organisation has!"
"Nobody knows where the founder is, 02 needs to be within audible distance for her powers to work which I don't see happening with this unnatural and 03 has been in a comatose state from the last time we tried to help against this thing..." he informed the agent, barely able to make eye contact with her,

"Even if we could help, our reserves of power would run out before we even cut that thing..." he added

"There have only ever been two people that could hold their own against this unnatural... and only one of them made it back from that mission in Nagasaki..." the senior agent confessed. Agent I began to realise that the woman from that vision she had in the training room was the second person that could fight this unnatural. She must have been on a level close to her mentor if she was able to go with him on that mission... but she never made it back. Would her mentor suffer the same fate?...
