"Mother fucking-" Chloe hurries to help out her roommate before her luggage falls on her. "I got it, i got it!" Together, they quickly shove the suitcase in the back of the shelf. "Thanks." The girl breathes heavily. "Give me a second." She's soon after recovered. "Ok, I'm good. Hi, um, sorry- it- thanks for that. I'm Red." She holds out her hand. "I'm Chloe Charming. Daughter of Cinderella and King Charming. Nice to meet you. You're from Wonderland, right?" Red nods. "I've always wondered what it was like down there." She nudges her. Red winces. "No?" "No, that was horrible. What was that?!" She laughs. "I don't know! I'm nervous, ok?! It's my first day." Red raises her eyebrows. "It's everyone's first day." Chloe shakes her head. "No, i mean, it's my first day, period. I've been home schooled all my life." Red nods. "I get you, me too. It can be a bit overwhelming but, at least we have each other right?" Chloe nods. "Yeah, you're right." Red nervously taps on her leg. "Um, I'm gonna set my stuff down in the bathroom if you wanna go ahead and settle down on your side of the room." Chloe smiles and nods. "Yeah, i will. Thanks." Red nods and quickly enters the bathroom and lowers her pants. She stares at the tattoo on her hip.
Rose for her and glass slipper for Chloe. Shit. No, she can't. She won't. She pulls her pants back up, like way up, covering her belly button even. She quickly sets her essentials down, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, etc. before walking out. "It's all yours." Chloe smiles as she walks past her to set her things down. Before she does anything else, she has to be sure. "Hey Chloe?" She calls out. The door opens. "Yeah?" "Um, just out of curiosity. Have you met your soulmate yet?" She shakes her head. "No, you?" Red also shakes her head. "Oh, well, maybe we'll meet them here! Wouldn't that be great?! You know, my parents met here back when they were in school. Yeah, their tattoo is a dirty hand grabbing a handkerchief. My mom tends to get her hands dirty, and my dad being the charming guy that he is, always carries a handkerchief on him somewhere." Chloe smiles as she remembers the first time they showed her their matching soulmate tattoos. Before they started arguing about whether her dad was actually charming or not. 'That's debatable.' her mom always says. "Oh, i almost forgot, what's your tattoo of?" Chloe asks her. "Uh, it's a heart with a sword through it." She lied. "Oh they have swords and shields here! Maybe your soulmate is on the team. Yeah, i was gonna try out later after school. Did you wanna come?" Chloe stares at her.
"Sure." Red pulls up her pants some more before following her out. They head to the Swords and Shields practice room. "So, where's your tattoo? If you don't mind me asking." Chloe smiles. "It's on my lower back. Yeah, i would show you but it's kinda in a spot that's not appropriate for school. If you know what I mean." Chloe has to think for a second before she understands. "Ooh....well, maybe your soulmate will get to see it, that'd be kinda cute and romantic. Something just between you guys, like your own little secret." She cannot know that her and Red are soulmates. To be honest, Red wishes everyone wasn't so hung up on all this soulmate shit. Just cause you're soulmates doesn't mean it'll work out. It doesn't mean you just get in a relationship cause you think you've met the one. Of course with matching tattoos, it's kinda hard to deny but still, it doesn't guarantee a happy ever after. Just look at her parents.
They reach the Swords and Shields locker rooms where the team list and surprisingly class list are posted. "Oh we have every class together! That's so cool!" Chloe smiles. Red groans. "Yeah, that's great!" That's torture! While Red has a mini panic attack, Chloe signs up for tryouts. This was a joke right? This has to be a cruel joke. "Hey! Um, tell you what? I gotta, I'm gonna, i forgot to eat this morning! So I'm gonna get a snack or something. Um, I'll see you in class?" Red smiles nervously. "Oh, uh yeah. Sure. Don't be late!" She shouts as Red speed walks away. She turns the corner and enters the restroom. She leans over the sink and breathes heavily. She knows that every person has a soulmate. She knows that matching tattoos don't lie. She knows she's meant to be with Chloe. But is she meant to stay with Chloe? Is she meant to love her? For how long? That obviously didn't last for her mom, why should she think it would be any different for her? No, no. She won't do it. Love ain't it.
