Red woke up the next morning to the sound of running water. Ugh, figures her soulmate is a morning person. Fate truly did hate her. She gets out of bed and walks over to her closet, deciding on an outfit for today. The bathroom door opens and steam comes out. "Oh, you're awake. Good, i was gonna wake you up after my shower, i didn't want you to sleep in and be late to class." Red looks over and nearly has a heart attack. Chloe was in her bra and underwear. Leaving very little to the imagination. She moves her hair to the side and turns around and opens her drawer to pick out a shirt when Red sees it. Her tattoo, well, really their tattoo. Clear as day on the back of her neck.
She feels her own tattoo burning through her clothes. She places her hand on her hip, as if to calm down her own body. If that was even possible. It was clear that her body yearned for her soulmate. Being in close proximity and not doing anything about it was not helping. Surely Chloe had to have felt this too. "Hey, Bluey?" "Yeah, Red?" "How's your uh, search for your soulmate going?" She was curious if the blue haired girl had any clues as to who it was. More importantly if she figured it out that it was Red. "It's um, going? I guess? Yeah, it's going. I'm still nowhere near finding out who it is but it's only the second day. Ooh maybe I'll see if it's anyone on my team. How cool would that be? We could spar together." Red nods. "Yeah, that'd be cool." Chloe stares at her. "You're not really interested in finding your soulmate, are you?" She asks. Red shrugs. "It's not that. It's just. As if living in a literal fairytale wasn't enough, now i gotta find my soulmate too." Chloe nods. "I get where you're coming from. But i mean, the way i see it. Life isn't worth living in if you don't have someone to share it with."
Red thinks about her words for a moment. She decides to change the subject. "Anyways, what's with the hot ass shower?" Chloe looks behind her to see the mirror fogged up. "I like my showers hot, i guess. I don't know, my body always runs hot. But because of that, i get cold easily." She shrugs. "Um, I'm gonna take a shower too." This was her chance. She had been yearning for Chloe's touch once again ever since last night. She couldn't help it, it's a soulmate thing. She grabs her clothes and passes Chloe into the bathroom, making sure to brush against her slightly. She closes the door behind her and revels in the feeling. It was like a drug. That can't be good. Once again, her tattoo on her hip burns like hot iron. But the sensation was welcoming. Is it possible to become addicted to a person? While Chloe's body runs hot, Red's body runs cold. She doesn't get cold easily cause her body is already cold. But she does get hot easily. That's why every touch with Chloe burns her. In a good way, though.
She turns on the water to freezing cold. Her multiple encounters with her soulmate has left her burning inside and out. She scrubs her body, being extra thorough in scrubbing her tattoo. That's where it burns the most. After she feels that she's fully cooled down, she steps out of the shower and puts her clothes on. She walks out to see Chloe putting her make up on. "Hey! Ready for class?" Red smiles and nods. They both head to class, occasionally bumping into other students along the way. Every bump pushes her against Chloe, her whole body reacts and burns to the touch every time. To the point of where her tattoo even itches from the burning. Chloe suddenly stops walking, causing Red to fall into her. They both go down as she stumbles on her own two feet. "Ow, what was that Chloe? You just stopped walking." This is not good, she needs to stand up now. Their bodies were entangled together, a burning sensation neither of them could deny now. "I felt it!" Chloe smiles as she stands. "Felt what?" Red asks, annoyed that now instead of burning, eveything just hurts. "I felt them! My soulmate! They're here! Did you get a good look at any of the people that were passing us?" Red's heart stops. "Um, no. Not really, now come on, we're gonna be late." She walks ahead of Chloe to their first class. She would grab her hand but she's not risking that again.
As they walk into their first class, Chloe tries her best to replay the crowd in her mind. "I'm telling you, Red. I felt it! They're here, i just gotta figure out who." "And how the hell are you gonna do that? We just walked past a sea of people, you probably brushed up against all of them." Red points out. "True. But I'm determined. I'm gonna find my soulmate and now that i know they're definitely here, I'm not gonna give up." Chloe smiles as they take their seats. Red groans. "Red, just because you don't want to find your soulmate, doesn't mean everyone else should give up too." Red shrugs. "I guess, but what if you're disappointed when you find out who it is?" The question tugs at her heartstrings. "I could never be disappointed. It's my soulmate. I'll love them for whoever they are." Chloe smiles. The bell rings as they switch to learning mode. Normally Red couldn't care less about learning but if it meant it would get her mind off this soulmate thing, then she's all for it. Even if the reminder of it burns her to no extent on her hip.
The rest of the day was literal hell for Red, considering her hip was on fire. Every class has assigned seating, everyone sits next to their partner, whether they know it or not, because there are other students who are just as stupid and oblivious as Chloe, turns out. Red looks around at the obvious couples. And the not so obvious couples as they sit beside one another. Some already together and cuddling to themselves, some oblivious to the fact and were probably wondering why their insides are on fire, while sitting next to their soulmate. Red wonders if Chloe can actually feel it or not. If she has, she's shown no acknowledgement about it. She also wonders if anyone else knew about the seating arrangements. It was obvious that everyone is assigned to sit next to their soulmate, but not everyone is told that. Red only knows because it was pretty obvious. She tries to ignore the blue haired girl the best she can. They were mostly just taking notes but Chloe would look around every once in a while, probably trying to see if maybe her soulmate could possibly be in class with her.
The bell rings and Red hurries out of class and heads straight to the restroom. She bursts through and turns on the faucet. She splashes cold water on her hip, hoping to cool herself. This can't be normal. But who's she gonna talk to about this? She couldn't talk to her mom. Chloe was out of the question. Maybe Principal Uma has some answers. With that in mind, she makes her way towards her office, a new determination was found. Soulmates should not be burning each other this bad. What was going on? She had to get to the bottom of it.
