After an exhausting plane journey to Tuleria, Kristine was exhausted. She couldn't wait to go to a comfortable bed and just sleep for hours. Alas, that wasn't possible because she had to greet the royal family first.
As she stepped down from the plane, Kristine couldn't believe the breathtaking view in front of her. Tuleria was a majestic and medieval kingdom nestled between towering mountains and lush forests. The landscape was a blend of rugged terrain and serene beauty, with a sprawling capital city that is the heart of the kingdom. The city featured grand castles, bustling marketplaces, and elegant gardens.
The huge royal palace was what truly captivated her mind. The palace was magnificent, with towering spires and intricate carvings. It was surrounded by lush gardens and protected by high walls.

A butler suddenly came running towards Kristine and greeted her respectfully.
With a deep bow, the butler, Mr. Adams, said, "Welcome back to Tuleria, Miss Kristine. It's an honor to have you return to your homeland."
A mix of nervousness and nostalgia, Kristine said, "Thank you. It's been so long... I almost can't believe I'm here. Do you know why they called me back? "I don't have the details, Lady, but I'm sure you will know soon. Let me assist you with your luggage in the meantime," said the butler.
A carriage came promptly to take Kristine to the palace, where she would soon face her destiny. The carriage rolled smoothly through the grand gates of the Tulerian palace, the wheels crunching softly on the gravel driveway. After a short journey, the carriage came to a stop in front of the grand entrance, where the butler, now joined by a few palace staff, was waiting to assist her. Kristine stepped out, her heart pounding with anticipation. The butler guided her inside, where the cool marble floors and the scent of fresh roses created an almost surreal atmosphere. She was guided to the main hall, where the royal family eagerly awaited her arrival.

The butler opened the doors to a lavish main hall, where the royal family awaited. King Chandra, the reigning monarch with a dignified presence, stood at the center with his wife, Queen Liliane, who radiated elegance and grace. To their sides were the two princes-Prince Lee, with his intense gaze and commanding aura, and Prince Claude, whose gentle smile was comforting.
King Chandra came first to greet her by saying, "Ah, Kristine, it is a pleasure to see you again. I trust your journey was pleasant." Kristine replied, "Greetings, Your Majesty; it is quite overwhelming to be back here.".
Queen Lilane walked up to Kritsine and hugged her warmly. She then said, " My dear, we are so happy to have you back with us. You're even more beautiful than I imagined you to be! We have so much to discuss." "Lee, Claude, come and greet Kristine now."
Prince Lee gave a firm nod and greeted Kristine quite coldly, whereas Prince Cluade was quite chatty and enthusiastic.
Claude said, "It's been so long since we last saw you, Lady Kristine. So much has happened since then."
" I hear you are a successful doctor in America and are the director of San Josephine Public Hospital. That is truly phenomenal!"
" Yes, I work as a doctor now and am content with my life there. Thank you for the appreciation, but there is a lot more left for me to achieve professionally" said Kristine.
After some small talk, the family moves to the lavish sitting area. There, Kristine is introduced to Lady Penelope, the daughter of the Foreign Affairs minister.
She was blonde-haired and fair-skinned, wearing an elegant dress. A smile was plastered onto her face as she made her way to greet the princes, completely ignoring Kristine. "Ah, the carriage broke down midway and I was stuck on the road for hours. Sorry for my late arrival." she said.

Queen Liliane immediately walked towards Penelope and comforted her lovingly. From this short interaction, Kristine was able to understand that Penelope must be someone close to the family.
"Kristine, meet Penelope. She is the daughter of our Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Gupta." said the queen.
"My name is Kristine, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Penelope," Kristine said. Penelope greeted her with arrogance and spite, which made Kristine extremely uncomfortable.
Then came the time she had been waiting for-the time to uncover the mysterious reason behind why she was called back to Tuleria.
As the family sat on the huge dining table, King Chandra made an announcement that shocked Kristine to the core. Her life was about to take a turn that she never would have imagined.
Kristine took a seat, her eyes darting around the room, trying to read the faces before her. The tension was palpable, and she could sense that something significant was about to unfold.
"Kristine, there is a matter of great importance we must address," began the king ."As you are aware, Tuleria has a long-standing tradition-a ritual that determines the next queen. Queen Lilane continued, "Per this tradition, there is a competition between Lady Odelia and yourself to become the queen and marry one of the princes."
Kristine was shocked and frustrated at the same time. The kingdom that once abandoned her now wanted her to compete in some competition that would change her life.
How will she react to this and, will she take part or not?
